 | We visited Adfab on April 19th 2008.We first visited Adfab in January of 2005 and for various reasons we just hadn’t gotten around to going back again until now (Two previous attempts resulted in failures to arrive due to unexpected stand stills on motorways and torrential rain) The club had a lot going for it on our previous visit but many improvements have been made since then. The Club:Adfab is a swingers club on the weekend and a spa by day, so if you want to see the layout of the place beforehand it is probably possible to do so with a call to the owners.Adfab is located near Heathrow Airport on the outskirts of a village, located within view of terminal 5, so one could combine a visit with trying to locate lost luggage at the same time. The premises consist of a large bungalow building with several smaller outbuildings and extensions all connected by completed enclosed canvas walkways with decking paths to each building. This means in bad weather you can access all areas of the club without being exposed to the elements, a huge improvement on our previous visit. We arrived later than intended with another couple whom we go clubbing with regularly, they had also been to the club on one previous occasion in 2007. Parking is not a problem – there is now a field area next to the entrance to the club which can accommodate a large number of vehicles. Although the weather was mild on the night we visited your unlikely to have problems with mud here, we arrived at 11.20pm and had no problems parking. The club can be easily driven past as it looks fairly non descript from the outside but the directions are good, just look for the garden centre, that is easier to spot, its just next door. Upon entering you come straight into the foyer and cloakroom area where you can book in and leave bags and jackets. The entrance fee is £40 per couple (Saturday is couples only) and there is a one off life time membership fee as well. We paid this on our previous visit in 2005 but had long since lost our card. Having contacted the club beforehand, this was not a problem and dealt with well. Once inside you wind through a small (unused) kitchen area and in the centre of the main building, turning left you will enter a corridor that has two toilets on it, another short corridor off to the left leads to a third toilet and a small private playroom, continuing along there is a second playroom on the right then you come into a more open playroom with a second one with a raised play area through an arch on your left. There area also has two sofas for you to chill out in and doors that lead to the outside and the other buildings, but we’re come back to that. If you turned right back at the beginning you come into the main dance-floor area which is preceded by a water cooler and two large fridges where you can label (provided) and chill your drinks (Its bring your own, there’s no bar) There is plenty of room here to do. The dance floor has a pole, the music mainly plays in this area and is really background music with a mixture of tunes. Turning right off the dance floor is a huge room with a bed in the centre and several sofas and chairs with netted off areas. The layout of this room is a huge improvement on our last visit. From this room is another set of doors that leads to a covered smoking area outside and another out building that contains a cinema room with plenty of sofas. It was a little chilly in there though. The other area outside at the back of the property leads to several walkways that access several outbuildings, the sauna and the swimming pool. The old bubbletop has been replaced by a glass one which can slide back in the summer when it’s hot. The pool was heated all night; this was especially welcome as we frequently like to have a dip before leaving for home. Added at the end of the pool is also a Jacuzzi. Outside, but still completely covered over is a second Jacuzzi. One of the outbuildings contains lockers and several clean towels and another toilet. There is also a sauna room, and another playroom in a hut near the Jacuzzi. Further down the walkway there is a barn area, previously it had some play areas and outside heaters, on this occasion we actually forgot to look. If the rest if anything to go be, it will have been improved we think there are further play rooms in this area. (We think this where the cage room are love swings are also located) No doubt someone else can fill you in.The nightSo what did we think of it? We should prefix this review by saying that we do like to dance so music for us can be quite important for setting the mood and as it was really just background here, that would be our main gripe, but that’s just us. It wasn’t the best stuff for getting people up on the dance floor either, which admittedly is not Adfabs mission but hey if you have a dance floor, why not get the best out of it? Of course not everyone wants a dance but it does help get us in mood. The club is clean and the layout whilst unusual works reasonably well once you know where everything is but it can take a while for things to kick off with being hard to define where the heart of the house is. The atmosphere in the club last night was, it must be said, very friendly. The staff are helpful and polite and will do their best to help you if there are any problems. They are also numerous and easy to locate when needed. The pool was very clean, warm and inviting – everything was working on the night we visited and there were no problems though the number of toilets is perhaps at times, problematical. We found no problem chatting with people and in fact several people we knew from the internet recognised us and came over for a chat. After a while we started playing in the raised platform room, two hours later there was 8 of us with a viewing audience higher than BBC3. Though we don’t smoke, with so many covered areas outside, smokers are well catered for here. The club is run very much as a business, and it shows – the upside of that is that everything always works, help is always there if you need it, the staff don’t impose themselves on the guests and the place is well looked after and the owners are obviously keen to keep improving it, as was self evident. The downside of this (And it’s a small one) is that it lacks a definite personality but we plan to go back and suspect the place will grow us rather quickly over time. If you’ve not been to a club before this one would not be a bad first choice and it has an excellent range facilities ensuring you can have money well spent if you play with someone or not. People are friendly and if you’re new don’t be afraid to chat to other couples because they will chat back. The club has a real mixture of people, we would guess the average age of the ladies was 30 or so but everyone looked good and many had made an effort to dress up. Couples in the main played together with only a few loners wandering around but there was no real hassle to speak of. We can’t say what Friday nights with single guys is like as we haven’t been. The staff will leave you to your own devices, but if your unsure of what to do or want to be introduced to some people to just chat and break the ice with, we are sure they would be more than happy to do that for you. On the night we went there was a uniform theme and a fair few people dressed up but we were in such a rush to get there we had to forego the effort on this occasion. Good club, well run, loads of facilities with for us at least, only being at fault with the music but as said before, not everyone wants that. We can’t wait to go on a warm summer evening, that is assuming we have any this year.4 out of 5.
