Is it an urban myth? One of my nieghbours told me lastnight that growing pampas grass in your front garden was code for 'we're swingers.' Anyone else heard this before? Are there any other secret signs that anyone knows of and what is the significance of pampas grass?

Never heard of this before!

I just wish peeps would locate the plant in the right place, in a big field, so that it is allow to grow freely and turn into a majestic plant, rather than being stuffed up in a corner against the fence etc...

Just out of curiousity frisky but does your neighbour have some in their garden? Would be interesting to see some appear if you told them it was true!

Yes I've heard this. If it's grown near the entrance to a property then it's a swingers symbol however I thought it took years to establish?

Imagine buying a house with it already well established and having no idea what it meant.

Yeah it was an age old sign of swingers.

Tip ..

If you want to keep it growing nice, you have to set fire to it in the autumn ....

I would say it's a myth, or all swingers would have them...

Bit like the which ear you wear one earring or ankle you wear a chain. Unless there is a place where it is documented, who would know, lol
