Had a cracking ride today. Paisley to Kilwinning, Lochwinnoch rd to Kilmacolm, back rds to greenock and through the valley to largs. Down to Kilbirnie, Lugton, Barrhead and home. Thinking now for shits and giggles i'll head back out after tea. The weather is glorious. Anyone out for a Vtwin cruiser? |

I was intending going round Loch Lomond on Friday. Got as far as Helensburgh before the heat and the slow traffic got to me and I stopped for a drink.
Roads were jam packed and not helped by cyclists who held up traffic. I've got an old school air cooled 1200 so it was chugging a bit in first gear while the line of cars tried to get past the cyclists. Both of us needed to cool down by the time we got to Helensburgh.
Then the rain started and there was a constant stream of traffic heading in the direction that I wanted to go. Headed home and just got in when the thunder, lightning and heavy rain started.
Will head south next time and try and avoid the traffic. |

Pre-Covid I commuted all year round so long as no snow or ice (been caught a couple of times!!!!!). Doesn’t mean I like it though gimme sun and dry roads please!!! |

Been out fixing the fairing on the Sprint after dropping one of the other bikes onto it. Ready for our club meet at Route 66 on Motherwell tomorrow. Took the bike for a short spin make sure nothing fell off. Hit some of that shite pea gravel, back end went one way I went the other, then I discovered that the suction factor as yer arse goes onto spasm is enough to pull you back down onto the seat... Council's need to be prosecuted for putting that shite on the roads... Especially on good bends where bikers do tend to wind it on a bit. |

Usual places, FleaBay, MCN, AutoTrader, Gumtree.
As NSV says, depends on budget. Higher budget, will be at main dealers.
Any preferences to narrow the search? MCN bike reviews are good for info, especially regarding things to look out for. |

I’d recommend not spending TOO much as if not been on a bike for a while there is the risk of dropping it (hopefully no crashes!). Get something not too fast or too heavy and get some miles on it for experience before doing the right thing and buying a BMW S1000XR (yes I’m biased!). |

Do a couple of test rides with adventure, cruiser, naked etc bikes and get a feel for what makes you happy. Or buy a cheap 600 bandit, keep it until you find exactly what you want. You'll appreciate the time spent riding and the expetiance gained. Before trading up to an adventure type or otherwise. But good luck. |

Looks like Tayside Police are increasing their presence on the A93.
Saw a group pulled over a couple of miles south of Glenshee. They weren't your typical anti-social bikers.
Probably a random stop to take the opportunity to engage with riders.

Took the day off yesterday and made the most of the restrictions being lifted.. went for a wee blast down to Dumfries.. was lovely.. next time I’ll post before I go
Looking forward to getting away up the west coast and sky in a couple of weeks for a three day trip too |
