I found Silverstone really disappointing last year at the Moto GP. They seem to do everything they can to make it difficult for the fans and that was probably reflected in the attendance figures. This year I'll be attending the WSBK at Donington instead.
I'll still be following Moto GP on TV though. |

Anyone remember the Brit GP heyday, camping at Donington mid 80's to early 90's before the fun police came in ? Vehicles allowed next to your tent. Campfires fed by articulated lorries full of wood so we didn't cut down anymore trees.Fireworks in line with a flight path. Guys roof surfing on vans, Guys skiing on bread baskets towed by vans/ cars / bikes. Wheelies, burnouts with petrol poured on the tyre, doughnuts, female topless pillions, nude riders, football with lit petrol can, anyone who says modern campsites are wild... you ain't lived |

I camped at Assen in 2004 (I think) that was absolutely mental, crazy Dutch and Germans.
I'm going to Silverstone this year, first time for GPs over here, camping on my my own. Hopefully the camping isn't too dull. Doing either 2 or 3 nights. |

"Sweethot are you going to Silverstone? "
Haven't been to Silverstone GP for possibly 13 years. Didn't like having to watch a live event on a big screen because there were no decent spectator areas. Will be at Doni for WSBK, a proper spectator circuit. |

Will be at wsbk as Donington is an epic circuit.. I do miss the GP being there x |

"I think there'll be even less spectators this year! And Woodlands will be scaled down further sadly"
I think there will be less than 30k on race day.. the fact TT practice week is the next day, plus everyone pissed off you cant take own booze in, and got to pay about 9 quid for flat singha. Kids exam times, and also football playoff finals at wembley that weekend so yea, its going to be dead. Hopefully that 80s rock band are on woodlands again though as they were brilliant |

"Bloody ridiculous that you can’t take your own booze in this year.
Good to see “that 80’s rock band” are back at woodlands though.
There's ways around that lol.
No day of champions either. "
Ive made what is hopefully, a realistic fake bottom in my cool bags but only 8 cans fit in each one |

Wirral |
We've not been for few years, but heading there on the Thursday, and staying in mk Fri, sat, possibly Sunday.
I hadn't realised there were so many other events on that weekend.....and you can't take your own booze in, that's a shocker... |

"Does anyone know if Silverstone have a helmet / leather locker this year ? Can’t find anything online "
I'm working at the event, as far as i'm aware, no change to normal. Gate 1 should have the main one at the bike parking area |

"We loved camping last year but the date move means we can't go this year as August is doable... weekend before the TT practice starts isn't x "
Ahh yes. Poor timing!
Might look into camping another year then.
I've got friends visiting the TT for the first this time.
I'm watching then British MX this weekend, so a nice mix |

We’re fair looking forward to it.
It has been a mare sorting tickets this year. No idea what happened to Silverstone’s accessibility team, but it was an atrocious hassle booking this year for a couple of our group. |

Roll on Saturday we're just hoping for at least dry weather as our 1st time heading to a MotoGp we're not staying over as travelling each day. Feel free to say Hi as we're in Club Corner Saturday and Sunday |

Theyre expecting record low ive heard due to a numeber of reasons
TT starts monday
GCSE time for kids
Footy play off finals all weekend at wembley
Ban on taking booze into track has also put lots off, as fsns saying its another way to rip us off.
I personally think theyll be lucky to get 25k race day. As long as woodlands campsite is lively we will be happy |

The messing around with Day of champions and no shuttle buses on Friday have pissed off quite a few people as well.
The Thursday DoC was always brilliant. £80 for their new format, on top of race weekend tickets being more expensive that many places is just too much. |

"Has anyone else's tickets not been activated in the Silverstone app yet?"
Ours haven’t, but we’re only going tomorrow so I’m not expecting them to activate until midnight (going by previous events) |

Woodlands will be busy it always is but we are ( apparently) expecting a bit of rain , thatcham ponds is also another good place to stay if you ever can’t get into woodlands , I live very close to the track |

It was much quieter yesterday than any day I’ve ever been. And the foot outlets and merchandise set up around the track was very very poor.
Back to August for them next year, they e just announced, so hopefully that will lift the event a bit as it’s been dismal this year |

We were in the accessible grandstand, which was Woodcote B this year, and for some bizarre reason Silverstone had chosen to close Woodcote and the majority of Luffield (grandstands) to those with roving tickets.
There was literally 23 of us in Woodcote B for the sprint race. |

Donington |
They should just open the grandstands up. It'd look better on TV. Campsites are dead too. I think they've realised their mistake and moved it back to August.
Can't see it coming back here after the contract ends. |

They need to look at the whole pricing structure, moving it from one month to another will do naff all!
I saw signs offering car parking for £30.. so for the 3 days, there's £90 of costs right there!
Le Mans.. 300,000 peeps over the race weekend, free camping, free parking, booze allowed, everyone stays inside or next door to the track and (i'm told)most of the grandstands are free, and 100 euros for the whole 3 days...
Get it cheap, give 'em other stuff for the family to do and get them in the doors and make your money from merch, food, beer, etc etc etc
Simple really! |

Cant believe they put them on at 630, and not as the main act. The bon jovi tribute on last wasnt great, and i dont know acdc music so cant say if they were good or not |
