Having tried the expensive Garmin Zumo XT2 and then ending up with a far cheaper motorbike designed car play unit I would probably go for another carplay unit. Okay my carpuride has a few issues, it can be problematic occasionally losing comms with the phone and can run the phone battery down. But as long as I keep my phone on charge whilst using it works pretty well at a fraction of the cost.

I use a TomTom 550 and wired it up. I usually use my phone on Google maps and leave in my pocket and just listen to directions in Cardio!

Can't beat a carplay unit for price and ease of use. Got them on 2 of my bikes.

near you check GPS location

I use an old zumo, had it for years bought with lifetime maps and it's programmable at home so I just follow the pink line.

Doesn't have live traffic updates so if I get to a closed road I' m buggered and just enjoy getting lost.

I’ve got a moto tablet pro which fits straight into my BMW cradle. Absolutely brilliant, Spotify and maps (Google and Apple)what more can you ask for. Ultra reliable too.

I do have a Zumo in my Blackbird which to be fair is great and does the job but I’m spoilt now by the car/bike play units.

Alternatively put your phone in a quad lock and Bluetooth your phone to your helmet lol.

Beeline. Small removable weatherproof turn by turn display on handlebars, phone in pocket, simple and effective.

Has route options for fast, fun or relaxed if you really want to explore the minor lanes.

British company.

here or there

At the moment just using Google maps on the phone with some bone conducting headphones seems to work okay, set some waypoints and away you go.

Old school.

If I know where I’m headed I’ll look at a map before I set off and commit a few key waypoints to memory. It goes wrong more than a satnav, but that’s the fun of riding

I’ll second the beeline, and there is a newer model out too which is more detailed.

I like the simplicity on it and how you can set the route yourself adding in stops or just choosing the fun route over fastest

I use the TomTom rider 500. Cracking satnav. I’ve just done over 4K miles round Europe using it, never missed a beat
