Scarborough

I've always fancied just getting up and going off on adventures so I've bought a Citroen Berlingo and going to have it converted. I'm looking forward to getting cosy in the back with someone lol

I've been undecided about doing the same. I'm a year round camper, but sometimes I cba setting up the tent for just one night.

My choice is between buying a small van and getting it converted , or waiting til I retire in 3 years and buying an actual campervan.

A micro camper is fine for one, but two is a crowd

At the minimum, for two in comfort you need a lwb caddy van or a swb Transit sized, in my experience

Ceredigion / N France

I've got the Peugeot version of the Berlin go and it's super comfi and great for stealth / urban camping.

I agree. There is only me and a dog though

I would regard anything other than a micro dog as a person size.

The van size differential between say a swb Transit Custom and a Berlingo has virtually no downside on the driving experience AND gives you a bit more oomph.

A box at end of your bed

Have you ever thought about getting a folding camper just hook it up to back of your car and off you go. They are simple and easy to put up by one person.

Another option is a roof tent. All you need is a roof rack for your current car. Takes minutes to fold out plenty of room for two or one and a dog.

No idea of how dog would get up there though, plus where I would store it when it's not on the car.

Leaving it on is not an option as I drive over £1000 miles a week for work and can barely afford the diesel as it is
