We recommend using Google Chrome Browser

While on the actual chat page, click the address bar at the top of the page where there is a padlock icon and it says "Secure".

From the drop-down list that appears, choose "Flash" and select "Always Allow On This Site".

Reload chat and flash will work.

Sometimes the Secure padlock link will show as an "i" icon (look at the left of the address bar which starts https://chat.fabswingers.com)

Check other software isn't interfering with Flash some security settings may prevent it. But otherwise it will definitely work if you follow the steps above.

"Our cam works in chrome, but not if we are on an incognito tab (with kids about its the safest way)"

In incognito mode in Chrome if you click on the secure padlock symbol and change camera and microphone to "allow" then close and reload, then click on the padlock and go onto "Site settings", then allow flash there, reload again, click on the padlock again and click "allow" against flash, (If pop up blocked appears in the top right hand corner click it to allow) it should all work then!

thanks, but even with the options showing that flash is allowed, refreshed, etc it still doesn't work

Come on Fab - fix this without the need of me getting a degree in computing!

Any time windows installs updates there will be cam problems on this site.

This site still runs flash.

Its outdated and most sites do not run this anymore.

They know this..sure there will be quick fixes now and then.

But solve the problem it will not in the long run!

To view and display both cams worked fine. Now it does not for some reason.

If I block flash, then I can view cams.. yet when I enable it I cannot. Which makes no sense to me at all.

If I put flash to always allowed on this site... and reload.. then for both my cam and viewing, says "right click to run adobe flash player".

Can anyone help? This is driving me mad and I see no point paying to get premium membership back when I can't get this to work anymore..

Cannot get cams to work (to show me) now. Worked OK around November. This happens too often, and just reminds me.... not to rely on Fab as a stable platform, keeping up with the times!!

Shame really. But I'm sure another company will come along to 'fill the gap'.

If you, for instance, have outlook online open that may log you into Skype online. Your camera my then be locked to Skype and will not show on the site. I had the same problem until I realised what was happening.

I had trouble starting cam using fully updated windows 10. Try usung steps below

1 Go to chat page

2 Click on lock icon where it says secure

3 A box opens , Where it says flash . Click down arrow

4 Click on Always allow on this site

5 Click on X in secure connection box

6 Click on Blue reload box

7 On right of screen Click on Click to start cam

8 Now click once on cam icon

9 On big cam icon that appears click twice.

10 New box appears. Click on allow

11 You should get a new box on left of screen asking to allow chat. Fabswingers.com wants to use camera microphone. Click allow

12 Your cam hopefully now showing you on box where says your cam.

This has worked for me

After over an hour of trying IE11, Firefox, Chrome, re-installing Flash, enabling flash wherever I could, the cam in your chat rooms still does not work.

The connection to the site is not secure, which implies that SSL has not been configured correctly at Fab's end. Surely flash content should have been tested fully?

I am from an IT background and I would check the services-config.xml file for secure and non-secure endpoint configuration. This affects flash content massively if configured incorrectly.

I've given up with the chat rooms for the time being.

Not sure if this is your issue, but if I use an icognito window, then nothing works. Open it in a normal tab and flash works great - once I've enabled it on the site by clicking on the 'i' or padlock.

So here we go …. I have 2 PCs both running the exact version of WIN10Pro and using Edge browser.

PC1 allows me to use my cam in chat no problem at all - has done since the day I bought it in December last year, worked straight out of the box. It's a Dell.

PC2 however is an Acer, roughly 12months old and relatively low spec, but running the exact same OS as the other one, Win10Pro and Edge browser, but when I try to use the same cam in chat on that PC I get the Flash screen to activate the cam etc etc however I only get a white cam preview screen and nothing else. The cam works in Skype without a problem but not on Fabs - despite trying Chrome, IE11 and edge. All firewalls Anti-Virus have been disables but it still won't have any of it.

Any ideas ??

"Just had same issue I installed Firefox and worked straight away. "

I'm currently in the process of removing the bundled OS from Acer and doing a clean install from an OEM source of Win10 - off this still doesn't work, I'll give Firefox a shot. I just find it strange that it works on one machine but not the other, despite running the same OS. I'll reply again on here when I arrived At a conclusion.

Yes use the puffin browser then access the site via the desktop site not the mobile one

The only way I could get it to work on the Acer PC was by installing Firefox. Still can't understand why it ran ok on a new Dell PC straight out of the box and using the same OS and browser - weird !

Seems chrome has once again had an update and killed flash which we all know is needed for the cams in the chatrooms. For those that use chrome you will notice the address bar on the page has gone from being square ended to rounded ends. If you lose flash look at the address bar to the left you will see a little lock. Click on the lock and go to site settings. You can re-enable the flash settings from there This is probably the best way to do it as the update seems a bit buggy in as much as the flash settings in content control seem to have fallen on their ass ...

I have had this before and a few days later I have been able to cam again? I dont know how to keep my cam facility to allow me to cam all the time? In Microsoft Edge navigate to the website that is missing Flash content

On the top right-hand side of the address bar you may notice icon shape of a jigsaw.

Click icon which will display a flyout Adobe Flash content was blocked

Click Allow once or Always allow to allow Flash content to run on that page for just one time or forever respectively

A Galaxy Far, Far Away & Spain

Having been a member of Fab since it's early days this issue has been going on for years.

When the tech issues get bad I tend to migrate to the competitors, & I don't renew my Site Support every month as I used to.

Whilst I don't cam as often it's nice to catch up with Fab Friends on cam. I come back & pay the Site Support & discover my cam won't work. I've tried the advice suggested & it still won't work (tho it does on competitors sites & Skype),

What's going on SJ & Mark? Why can't this be resolved?

For anybody having issues in Chrome, or Chrome during Incognito mode:

If you see the "Flash is not working/activated on your browser" message in the "Your Cam" section but you know Flash is indeed set up correctly and works on other sites, the follow these steps:

1. click on the padlock icon in the address bar next to chat.fabswingers.com

2. click on the cog at the bottom to open Site Settings

3. Change the Flash setting from "Blocked" or "Ask First" to "Allow"

4. go back to the chat window and click on the padlock icon again

5. change Flash to "Allow" (seemingly redundant but necessary step)

6. Reload the page via the blue button that appears

7. result.

I have just purchased a brand new cam as my old one wasn't windows 10 compatible.

I have loaded the drivers, updated Adobe Flash, allowed all the cam, mic, java, flash options in the address bar, refreshed and rebooted and still my cam doesn't work. I am using the latest chrome. Any help appreciated. Thanks
