I've never been to Empire, but I lived in Huddersfield an awful long time ago.
Empire has been there since the days of X rated films such as Confessions of a Window Cleaner, and more.
I understand it's a very dirty place in a seedy kind of way.
The local newspaper used to have regular reports of the place being raided, but it only ever stated that "married men, policemen, barristers, teachers and other professionals had been detained".
Since Empire is still in business, I suspect that they must be doing something right!
One day, I will visit but I'm a tad shy of going on my own because I'm completely straight.

I think the talk of the police raids was over 20 years when Manchester and London lost all thier cinemas. As for it being a dirty seedy place , perhaps you should consider all the talk off the refurbishments over the last 2 years as mentioned here in the forums. |

Was at the Empire today. The rework of rooms works well and staff as helpful and friendly as ever.

We have been a good few times and have been in twice in two days (yesterday and today) we enjoy it staff and customers are fab. Also more and more couples are going now. Andy,Eve and Lavinia are fab keep up the good work x |
