Thinking of Chams next Monday. We usually stay at the Premier Inn which has no aircon. Has anyone stayed there in hot weather? How bad does it get? The alternatives are the Village or Holiday Inn Express. How much road noise is there? We have stayed in a room at Chams before but don’t fancy it again.

I am in the Travelodge in Walsall right now after an evening at Chams. This hotel has something like aircon - it is on right now and the room is cool. Only get road noise if you are in an odd numbered room. Request even numbered room, car park side and there is no noise.

I’ve not noticed the Premier Inn getting too hot, but I prefer the facilities at the HIE.

Never experienced much road noise at the HIE, even in the rooms overlooking the M6, but I’ve generally stayed on the lower floors. The upper floors might be noisier as they’re closer to the carriageway level.

Not stayed in the Village, but it’s further away from the M6 so shouldn’t be too noisy.

Thanks. I have just read a few reviews of the Premier Inn which complain about the heat so as it is forecast to be 26 degrees over the weekend, it may be an issue with no aircon. A shame as You can normally rely on a good night sleep there.

Premier inns are often, but not always, stuffy. I am staying at chams tonight so curious as to why you didn't want to stay there again?

Holiday inn express is fine - have stayed there before with my ex after going to Chams. No road noise at all and the added bonus of a good breakfast spread
