Does anyone actually watch porn in playrooms?

We have porn in most areas at Townhouse. On massive screens in the bar and lounge and in all but one playroom and varying size screens.
My own experience when playing in clubs is that I don't even notice if porn is on in playrooms! I have one thing on my mind only and it's real filth rather than porn on the telly!
We are redesigning our playrooms and we can't decide whether to keep the tv's in the playrooms and continue playing porn or remove them altogether and just play porn in the social areas.
I personally prefer a sexy atmosphere and tasteful music over porn.
Also we have a huge lounge with a 9ft projector screen and a super dooper projector. What are your thoughts on having an odd daytime adult cinema thing going on once or twice a month?
Opinions please! Help me decide! Lol

In the play rooms it is surplus to requirements as there should be enough live action filth to keep everybody occupied. Perhaps a cinema themed room would be the only place to play porn. |

Rather than porn..
You could redevelop the screensinto other uses..
Create a tv camera play room.. hook up indivdual cctv camera to a screen on each wall and perhaps a screen outside the room too
Instant create your own porn show for voyeurs.
Perhaps make it interactive. Have a remote lever and zoom outside for people to play with...
Cinema room is a great idea.... rows of seats and few naughty couples... |

I haven't as yet at the pleasure of visiting your venue although I definitely will get there one day,as for for the clubs that I do attend I don't notice it but it's never been a big draw for me in any situation, I much prefer watch live action.

We've only ever watched it in the bar at THI and that's only really been as a talking point with others, rather than a sexy thing. I don't think it adds anything in the play rooms.
Maybe have one room with a larger screen as a porn cinema and ditch the rest?  |

I also agree with this. Usually it's a case that the porn being shown on playrooms is only good for either a laugh or criticize for being so fake.. Doesn't add anything to the experience of being in the playrooms.

Is it kind of an atmosphere setter. No one takes notice of it, but it just adds to the ambience of being in a swingers club? Like if it wasn’t there, then you’d notice, rather than noticing it is there? |

Me too. The sound puts me off too. You wanna be able to hear what's going on in the playrooms as well as see it, you don't want to be able to hear the porn. |

We have our porn on mute. I couldn't imagine hearing the fake fucking in the background!! lol
I think we have it, because we always have, not because it's needed, if you know what I mean?
But with so many changes going on in our place, we are re-thinking everything and this is one of them
I think we may compromise and have porn on in the lounge areas for people who like to watch it to get in the mood and keep it out of play areas.

I find some do like porn just for the sounds as there playing so others don`t know there making sounds.
Others like to enjoy porn and have a wank when clubs are not busy. And then there few who like porn to get in mood.
Porn is not needed mind you and would mean licence but there would be some who would not enjoy the venue due to it so it one of them have the porn for limited few as it case of the hassle and small cost could mean for a less busy club. some like the full cinema as part of there night out just like jumping in the hottub |

The club I go (ClubF) has no porn anywhere. I took a friend there recently, and she commented on that as something she liked about it.
I've been in another club that had porn playing in the lounge area, and I have to say it was a turn-off. If you're going to have it, you have to put some thought into what you show.
There were two films in particular that I remember. In one, a woman was lying there barely pretending to enjoy it while a group of guys shoved their dicks at her. That is not the sort of behaviour a club should be encouraging.
In the other, a man snuck into a woman's bedroom while she was asleep and started touching her. No possibility of consent - definitely not something a club should be implicitly condoning.
I do like the idea of a camera in one of the rooms though. With a switch on it that can't be accidentally activated however athletic you get. It would be great for the exhibitionists. |

We have found that the prombel with porn in club playrooms is that the video usually dictates the light level in the room.
IE, the playrooms are usually dimly lit, but the porn from a big tv can cause the whole room to brighten when an outdoor scene (for instance) comes on, then when your eyes have adjusted to this the porn goes to a darker scene and hence the room goes really dim again.
We'd not miss porn in the playrooms, but think there should be some form of mood lighting, rather than just an overhead light. And some form of good, but not too loud, background music. NOT some loud hip hop crap that we subjected to in one club !! |

Maybe, apart from the cinema room you are suggesting, if you have other screens then keep them small so people are choosing to watch rather than have it shoved in their face.

A lot of clubs have cinema rooms which adds a bit more atmosphere to the porn as they can normal get a quite a few people playing at once. |

A lot of couples watch porn in the clubs and watched couples playing while watching porn some couples enjoy others watching them playing together and some hubbys enjoy showing there wives off without having others joining them and it’s the same in the sex cinema but some will ask for you to join them if they are interested. |

All of our rooms have low lighting, mood lighting and 3 areas have sexy bedroom jams playing.
Also, the porn that we play is often 'classier' stuff like Mark Dorcell so it's decent, but I just don't think it adds any ambience to playrooms.

I haven’t been to Townhouse but do go to clubs regularly. If I’m watching the porn I know it’s not been a good night. I usually find it off putting tbh, as others have said the live action is much more of a turn-on. I know the people I’m with don’t generally watch it either, except to comment on how rubbish it is. Good points about lighting and music though. I like the camera idea too. Can imagine that would be a draw. |

Never really got anything from the porn being played in clubs, the sexy people interacting and a fun vibe gets us going not a played out porno.
As for adding cameras in rooms to be displayed elsewhere this would be an instant leave for us.
We actually get off on people watching us in a safe environment, the window into the couples area at secrets in Cita has seen us putting on a show but any chance of anything being recorded is an absolute no.
We went to VA festival of fun a few years ago and a chap was walking around with a camera taking pictures for the club.
We complained and were told all faces would be blanked out, not good enough, we had paid £100s of pounds for passes, hotel etc and didn’t want any chance our photos may at some point surface.
We left and have never been back.

About 5 years ago, we played with the idea of having a wired camera in one room for the reasons stated above but, like yourself, this would make me VERY nervous if I was a customer. We have a no camera/phone rule in the club for very good reasons and I'm just not comfortable breaking my own rule by filming in one room. I can totally see the attraction of this, but it makes me twitchy.

Porn in playrooms almost seems a cliche, but we prefer sexy music and low lights rather than 'unreal' staged fucking on screens - the real fucking taking place in playrooms is much more exciting! That's what makes the erotic atmosphere, not professional actors with unreal bodies. We like to hear the sex-noises made by real people too. |

A porn screening using a projector in one room (with sound) might set the right tone early in the evening or on standalone cinema days. On small screens with no volume it's next to pointless although, as mentioned above, it does have some value as small talk/icebreaker. The erotic stimulus is minimal though. |

I agree with music instead of porn, I use to torment a local club owner to change theirs to the same. I don't mind it in the public areas, it's a great topic of conversation at times. Playrooms with ambient to suit the mood music, different selections for certain rooms even. |

As a single male, clubs can be quite unwelcoming places at times. I get that some men are seriously pushy, so I understand why. Porn movies allow a single men to get settled. I agree what clubs show is usually rubbish. I also love the idea of filming the action in the clubs, but would guess many people participating would be deeply uncomfortable. There are lots of women-centred films there days that are much more sensual and mood setting, such as bellesa.co . These might be a nice compromise, especially in a cinema room or on small screens scattered around. Hope that helps with the decision. It is great that you are asking for people's thoughts. |

We also share these opinions.
Don't know if we can name the club but there is one we've been to that has a "camera room". It's a small lockable playroom with a motion sensor activated cctv camera. When anyone enters the room the porn playing in the chill out room automatically flicks to a live feed from the camera room. Some of the best porn we've watched in a club! The footage is not recorded & all customers are obviously made fully aware there is a camera in the room. A bit of a tease though when the corny fake porn that you're not really watching stops, switches to live feed, suddenly you're glued to the screen & all you get is a few seconds of someone having a nose around & then walking back out! Funny though!  |

It's apparently live feed only and not recorded and is streamed into the chill out room.

Am I right in thinking that you have to register for an “adult entertainment” licence if you show porn? A swingers club can be registered as a private members club, albeit an unconventional one. The “adult entertainment” thing means additional regulatory hurdles? |

You can apply for a licence to show adult material as part of an alcohol licence! If you don't have an alcohol licence, then some councils may insist on a separate licence for adult material.
This should not be confused with a Sex Entertainment Venue licence which is completely different. |

I came to your club last week, I had a great time and I couldn't really fault the place. You're going a great job.
Regarding the porn, I did watch it in both the bar and upstairs. I think it helps people to ease up a little bit. Having said that, it wouldn't bother me if it wasn't there.
If you want to be picky about the club, I'd say the only thing I'd change is to dim the lights in the hot tub area. For me, dimmer is sexier! Having said that, slipping over in the dark and smashing a glass everywhere wouldn't be so sexy!
The main issue I have with many clubs is the higher cost for single men. It's not so much the actual cost, but the fact that we have to pay a premium because we're surplus to requirements! I think it's a bit demeaning and it puts me off. That being said, I'd do the same thing if I ran a club! Lol. |

We went to another club recently and found the porn really off-putting when in the main lounge area. Also been at other house party events where the room with porn on was the least used room. It is irritating/distracting. |

Whenever we have been in a club, mostly in the north, porn has never been interesting to us and also most people we have connected too. Having a room with a camera in it linked to a tv could be interesting, having seen this at jaydees, people seemed to be interested and it's real not porn. Male  |

That’s interesting about the camera/tv linked, our dark room has this facility but it was viewed with suspicion in case it was being filmed. We tried it a few times but never carried on, maybe we will try again |

Both me and My partner don't, generally the porn in clubs is often the worst kind of horrible plastic porn. More of a turn off if anything. It really doesn't appeal to us. Although the owners of another club recently explained to us that the options are limited as only videos with a certain certification can be played in clubs. |
