I was wondering what the photo verification process is for couples profiles because there seems to be a great many of them that are photo verified but quite clearly aren’t a couple. We trust the verification process to keep us safe from fake profiles so if it’s not working then we aren’t as safe as we thought we were.

How does the verification process keep you safe. Due diligence and common sense is a much better way of keeping yourself safe.

So what’s the point of the verification process at all then?

Are you saying that anyone who’s been conned or harmed by someone on the internet who was pretending to be someone they aren’t were at fault for not doing their due diligence or having any common sense? So it’s their fault that it happened to them? Are you saying that you could never be conned by a fake profile?

Having a verification system in place that verifies fake profiles is worse than having no system at all. The verification will lull people into a false sense of security and makes them more vulnerable. If we can’t trust the verification system to prevent fake profiles being verified as real then what’s the point in having it at all?

You've already tried to discuss this at great length on other threads. Maybe you should go back and reread the discussions there.

All I'm saying is we are all responsible for our own safety. A website can't keep you safe. Verifications are one way to assist in a person's decision making process. They are not the be all and end all.

Don't take any notice of the verification system if you have no trust in it. Be diligent. Use your common sense.

This.

The rules of photo verification are here.

If a couples profile is photo verified and you have good reason ro believe it's just a single then report it and admin will look into it.
