Just used the AI image/camera age verification (3rd option?) And it was quick and easy, got the token within a couple seconds of starting the process, no drama.

Used the mobile network test. Took about 15 seconds all in.
No problems for us either worked a charm. |

I'm offshore at the moment, so I used the 3rd option which I could do without the need for a phone signal. It was effortless, quick, simple no one could possibly complain about having to do that once.

I purchased a SIM card/minimal data package and didn't apply to have the adult content filter unlocked. This was to test that the service could identify unverified accounts.
I then tried the verify by mobile data connection and text options and both correctly stated that the age was not verified on the account.

Tested the mobile network option.
- Tried to fool it and stayed connected to WiFi (good that it notifies that can’t perform when still connected).
- Process is fast and took seconds to confirm.
- Only concern is the reusable token in case of rejoining. Are there additional securities in place to make that unique to an individual/prevent from being passed round and invalidating the process?
Based on it being a simple process and only taking seconds to validate, is a reusable token completely necessary? |

We chose the facial recognition part from the 4 options. Experience. Fast, stable operation. Does not ask for any personal data. The process went quickly. After successful verification, we received a secret Fab age token. With which we can later enter the site without verification. Nice work, Thank you. |

The network check worked fine and was not overly intrusive.
Uncertain why a reusable token is necessary once the account as a whole is verified once - users won't be getting younger and will forget them!
Would prefer to be able to use this method for both my party going and personal accounts which I access using the same phone.

Tried the photo verification for 25+. Seems similar to other sites who already use this technology, easy and straightforward.
First attempt it said it could not verify (I think the glasses sometimes throw it off) but then allowed me to easily try again, and no issues second time round. 2 attempts took probably less than 2 minutes to verify successfully.

AI facial recognition is easy & painless. I tried the AGE code but apparently this not adult authorised phone. Some folk will be reluctant to get this changed.

OFCOM have given this as a recommended method in their guidance because it doesn't work like that. Any new phone connection is by default adult blocked due to an industry-wide agreement with OFCOM from all the network operators to work this way. For the connection to be opened to adult it would have required explicit action by an adult e.g. going into shop with ID or using a credit card at the mobile network site with the explicit intention of removing the adult block.

Could not use the mobile data option as it stated that the WiFi was still on even though being off on iPhone and not in range of any WiFi, 2nd option by sending a text worked immediately and I had no issues using. |

Giving a child under the age of 18 with the content lock switched off is classed as a criminal offence in the uk and will lead to the termination of your account with EE I’m assuming the same with other network providers.

That's a parental issue. They are responsible for giving their child an unlocked phone and it is against the law in the uk to do so. |

If only one phone is used for a couple is there a risk that one party is underage? I see the value for singles but am not sure this adds reassurance for couples. That said I suspect unless coercion is present that underage parties in a couple wouldn’t happen. |

"We store no data other than a PASS if we can confirm you as 18+. We don't store (or in most methods need) your DOB as part of this process and we don't store any data as part of the process. It is emphatically NOT an ID check. For anyone interested in the details of the legislation, OFCOM has published around 400 pages of guidance related to this which you can google and read through."

I used the WiFi off. Had to have my network provider turn off the adult content block. Less than 3 mins to do all that.

I personally think that the AI camera option shouldn't be available to ppl who are either 3yrs before or 3yrs after the verification age because the result might not be accurate.
But other than that, it was quick and easy. |

I tested if I could so it with my phone that piggybacks its data off an 18+ enabled Sim, and it didn't work.
(Good - as it means under 18s sharing data with a parent can't do it)

Used the first option despite disabling wifi it still wouldn't work. I saw a comment on this thread about iPhone needing to disable private relay, I done that and worked straight away.
As a couple I've age assured for myself on my phone (Mrs) but we haven't been told that Mr also needs to do this. Will both people need to complete the check? Will you add another symbol on people's profiles to confirm we have age assured ourselves? I've had an email to say we are entitled to the extra day on supporters pass but not how we access it so I assume it'll just get added onto our existing pass? |

I’ve just done this using the face and ID method (method 4). I tried using the look 25+ method first to try it when I didn’t have ID on me but it didn’t work (have that Tesco!) and the ID method worked just fine. Took a couple of attempts to scan my ID correctly but it told me why it failed each time so I could fix it.
Hope everyone on the site is made to do this at some point and have it show on profiles. |

Everyone will have to do it under the new law but why would it show on profiles? You can't physically log on without being aged verified from the 24th. |

Ah ok, I must have missed that when I was reading through. I know they recently rolled out not being able to view 18+ sites in the US but people get around it by using VPN’s to change their location. So it will be good if the site can stop people logging in completely after the 24th.

Used the face recognition on an iPad.
Does not work if the iPad is in landscape mode. It keeps stating, unhelpfully that the camera is not enabled.
Only after trying a similar method on another site which did say it didn’t work unless the tablet was in portrait mode.
Set iPad to portrait mode and worked on here.
You need to state this. |

Assuming this verifies the account and is therefore applicable whether logging on tablet, phone or laptop? Again, not tech savvy |

Great idea easy to use should be linked in to veried as singoe/couple etc so it can filter out the non genuine accounts and close those who dont match or pass age check |

I used wi-fi off method. Easy to do and completed in seconds.
Personally however, I'd prefer to see a selfie only system. Too many non photo-verified profiles on the site - most of them fakes. Why not use the age verification requirement as a means to eradicate this problem to at least some degree? |

Because the age verification by photo is automatically done by the software it doesnt store the picture all it does is check to confirm you look old enough. |

Got facial recognition on other fab site but no joy on here , keeps saying camera not enabled on phone and kindle ? Tried to get adult content allowed on my phone , and again hitting my head against a brick wall probably to old . So unfortunately looks like I'll be leaving. |

Managed Age Assurance fine with AI face recognition. However was then given a unique password. Does this mean you need to use this password everytime you log on. It consists of 3 words, easily forgotten. |
