We were thinking it would be good to have a post traffic counter in the forums because it always nice to know how popular a post is to view I know it's a silly one but we are always on forums for a range of things and we like that we know if people have atleast viewed it rather than just the people who posted any thoughts?

Good idea. It would be interesting. There's a lot more lurkers than people think.

Yep!

It's often claimed only 1% of the site use the forums. Never found out if that's posting or lurking.

And whilst I detest Facebook if also like to see the good old thumbs up/down style like/dislike facility - if only to stop popular threads being filled with a quote and a thumb. Would also save scrolling through looking for a response only to find nothing more than an emoji of one variety or another as the only contribution. Those rolly eyes smileys must be getting tired.

No chance of any of that with the forum as is, you need proper forum software.

Pester admin for a forum that looks like it's from 2005 rather than 1995, and you never know!
