Once the Lockdown ends

Cap d’Agde, France

Lots of talk of a 'Fuckfest' amongst friends once this is all over but what happens when just the Lockdown ends.

Think the Cap is finished for this year, people will be too cautious, perhaps small soirées of 'safe' friends will the way forward!

There will still be some who visit holiday destinations but they will be from France rather than from other countries.

Cap is bound to be among the resorts that people visit just it will be a lot quieter.

I think that once the lockdown ends, people will come out and slowely start socialising until....someone coughs!

Suppose some will be arranging meets the minute their lockdown ends. As if, by magic, the virus has disappeared.

Others, us included, will be far more cautious.

Really can't see us meeting and playing again this year.

There will be pockets of the virus around the world for years and still no way of knowing who's carrying it.

Small, isolated lockdowns will be the norm for the foreseeable future in most parts of the world as travel restrictions ease and people start moving again.

There's no way on earth we will be going to a club in Cap (or anywhere else) for a long, long time.

It's one thing re-opening a bar or restaurant once the virus eases in your area.

It's quite another thing to visit a swingers club where you'll be having sex with someone you met a few minutes earlier. On a bed with other couples doing exactly the same..!

For most people, safe sex involves the use of a condom to prevent the spread of disease.

There's nothing similar to stop the spread of Covid-19.

And for that reason, we're out...

We're booked for Cap end June/July.

If the flights are moving will we go...yes.

Will we be swinging to our hearts content..no.

There's the beach, bars and restaurants.

Will it be the same, probably not but if you don't go, you don't know.

Same with our September visit.

Swingers socials can be fun too.

London, Norfolk & Cap d' Agde

An update from Agde: I spoke to my neighbours last night, it appears that the French lockdown has been extended by another two weeks. There are now many confirmed cases of covid-19 in the Agde area. My neighbours who own a restaurant in Grau d'Agde have said they are probably not going to open this year as they don't expect many visitors after the lockdown is revoked. It sounds like the beach and open-air areas may be OK, but they feel people won't want to go to confined/crowded areas like restaurants and clubs... doesn't sound so promising now, but I hope I am wrong. Stay safe everyone

The French lockdown is going to be extended but the period of the extension is going to be announced in an address to the nation from Macron on Monday. Who ever said two weeks is wrong.

The EU are pushing for a Europe wide travel ban until the 15th May so don’t expect any lifting of the Lockdown for the next 5 weeks!

Wow, another month!

Let's see what Monsieur Macron says on Monday evening when he addresses the nation.

A very interesting post. It is going to be difficult to predict the future of social life in Cap. Unto an inoculation is invented mixing in close company will be a lot less attractive . It is a financial disaster for both the airlines and the tourist industry. Unto recently Easyjet only had enough cash to survive unto August. Shares in the Dart Group ( parent company of Jet2 ) have fallen from £17 to £4.. While they also own Fowler Welch coolchain the profits from this operation with wafer thin margins would not keep an airline afloat.

Hi. We may have heard it on here first , but I will be doing further research before accepting that a virus has disappeared. Pictures of people on ventilators fighting for survival have make me very cautious ( though I accept the the risks of dying from it are comparatively low )

Well, you've got a 50% chance of being the most intelligent man on earth, even more clever than Mr Trumper or the biggest dickhead whoever got out of bed.
