Euronat back to Calais in 4 days so need stop off advice

Chalfont St Peter

Hiya we are staying at Euronat near Royan in August and leave on Wednesday 23rd of August and have to be at the Calais ferry on the 10.30am crossing on Sunday 27th ie 4 nights

With a relatively early crossing it would be good the night before to be relatively close to Calais ie maybe within an hour or so.

What we are after is a recommendation how to use the three other days which logically could be - leave Euronat and driven say 5 hours and stay 2 nights somewhere then two nights near Calais?

We like a campsite with maybe a bit of a social scene in a bar or walking distance into a village or town

Any recommendations gratefully accepted that would minimise driving so without any lengthy detours

Maybe one half way and one near Calais ?

If you are in a motorhome there is a large Aire de campingcar at Le Crotoy about 1hr 20 from Calais. Lots of restaurants and bars for a nice evening before heading to the ferry in the morning it does get busy though so would recommend parking mid afternoon.

We arrive on the 5th of August and are staying till the 18th. Will be a family holiday, but gather theres a kids club. So might be free for a social drink whilest there. We've never been there before, so welcome sny info on the site.

We're stopping off at Le Mans on route back to split the driving up.
