Same happened to me... Apparently an avatar counts as a public photo, or they can make a private pic public...send the mail and set it to private again as soon as they've sent the mail.
Bit of a pointless filter IMO |

If there's no avatar, it's probably the other explanation above... They'll be making a pic publin then mailing you, and then setting it back to private. |
