Photo Uploaded From Phone Disappeared

Hey all
Quick question, we’ve had a photo we sent from phone disappear from the message.
The message is still there as was only sent couple of days ago we didn’t remove them.
I’m sure we’ve seen this before too.
It would be good to understand what’s happening or if it’s a bug.

Nope - sorry we should have included that detail.
We know that option is there and don’t use it as we subscribe and can remove them when we want. |

Was it a direct photo that you had attached? Im sure ours automatically delete from the chat after a day or two, whether we tick the "auto-delete" or not.
(I initially thought the recipient had deleted it as a sign of no interest...but the direct photos seem to disappear automatically after a while.

Yes it was, I don’t believe it always does it though (which would be the case if it was a feature).
I’ve not seen that documented anywhere either. |

We sent a message with a non rude image) direct from phone (it was not in our albums) the message then disappeared when the recipient had read the message. We did not delete it after sending (it shows when you do anyway) or use the delete when read feature.
Is that a bit clearer?

"This happened to us. - I emailed admin. Apparently there is a small tick box that you need to press if you DONT want it to disappear, otherwise it’s automatically defaulted to do this. "
That’s not correct the checkbox is to remove it not prevent removal.
However I just checked and the wording states it will be removed within 24 hours.
Mystery solved and case closed

It wasn't you who wasn't clear, I think I just read it wrong.
The delete when read feature only works on pictures you send in your gallery.
The direct from phone option says it will be deleted within 24 hours of viewing |
