If you send a message and it remains unread for long enough, does it automatically get deleted?

And if so, how long is the period that it is allowed to remain unread before deletion?

Yes it seems if it’s left unread for a few weeks it gets deleted. I noticed this myself as someone o had been chatting with my last message went unread for a few weeks and now it’s no longer in our conversation history
