When you receive the PIN code you would have to send it to her instead of filling in the box on the upgrade page yourself.
But if she already a silver supporter with the silver medal on her profile then she should be able to message until it expires, unless she has been blocked for some reason by Admin. It has nothing to do with her inbox.
But I will add that people need to be very careful about being asked to pay for others folks site supporter because 9 times out of 10 its a scam.

If you are a silver site supporter can you even run out of messages??? I know I never have. I'd be very dubious about any woman who says she's ran out of messages as in general we tend not to send as many as men. |

Even in the periods when I haven’t been a site supporter - I have never run out of messages - and there have been moments when I wish I had a PA to reply to my messages |

"There is more allowance for site supporters. Most people never hit the free limit (by design) so you must send a lot of mail!
... Should also say that the allowances aren't fixed, people whose accounts are more trusted e.g. verified, photo-verified, on the site longer, also get more mails; site supporter *is* part of this "mix".
