Plymouth and Newcastle (sometimes)

The best advice I can give is forget the screen in front of you and pretend every interaction is actually face to face...If you wouldn't say it to a stranger in a bar, then don't say it on here.

"Great advice!

Do you think that everybody will be receptive to the same message?

One that shows you've read their profile, nothing generic that you could copy and paste to anyone.

Any message you receive should start-dear gamesmaster......but if they keep asking for hidden cheats on apex legends just ignore the fools.

Hello newbie and welcome!

Be yourself, be polite.

Don't take yourself or the site too seriously and you'll be fine.

Happy fabbing

you are more likely to get a conversation at a bar.

The most important one is to have realistic expectations of the site.

And maintain a sense of humour !!

To be honest, things don't really kick off till you start to meet people. Catch 22? Kinda.

Personally, I use the site to find out where the good parties and socials are. Your reputation is your currency. Find a social or club near you and literally aim to go with the intention of learning from the environment.

Once you get known as a reasonable fellow locally things will grow naturally and you can start to travel and meet with friends of friends etc.

I could give lots more info but that should help to begin with.

Also, if you do decide to go clubbing, this page gives some excellent advice on how to conduct yourself in a club situation.

You're probably correct as most folks wouldn't open a conversation in a bar with the crass messages that they send on here.
