.

So this came up in a conversation in work today. Is too confidant cocky or is there a line between confidence and been cocky. How do you view this?

Confidence is being secure in yourself, knowing your worth and valuing yourself.

Cocky is when you feel the need to tell everyone all of the above and expect them to agree.

Definition of cocky - conceited or confident in a bold or cheeky way...the latter is a positive trait in my opinion, being conceited is not... ...

Confidence can be quiet, cocky can't.

Confidence doesn't have to do the focus of attention cocky does.

Confident people tend to make those around them feel better about themselves cocky tries to make them feel worse

I think being confident is being assure of your skills and ability where as being cocky your not but that's just my opinion...

They are in fact opposites, people who are confident in themselves don't need to put others down.

Confidence is an aura and and understanding of yourself (can be loud or quiet)... Cocky is about trying to draw praise and being centre of attention (ie. Peacocking)

Confident people usually have a reason to be... cocky people dont need an actual reason to be cocky lol

I think there can be positive and negative connotations to both. I've met people in work situations who are confident without the knowledge to back it up and it can be both dangerous and costly, and I know people who are a bit cocky in a cheeky raffish way that I find an attractive aspect of their personality

Cocky doesn't have to be a bad thing. We've all come across the lovable cheeky cocky lad at some point in life, or perhaps some of us men even played the role ourselves at times. I know I have.

It's when the cockiness veers into arrogance that it becomes a bat trait.

A confidant should be someone trustworthy who's opinion you value iko

There is a very fine line between confidence and arrogance and it’s such a turn off
