Newry Down

This time of year, when the clocks spring forward always brings a smile to my face; my rare Jargonelle pear, probably one of very few in Ireland has already sprung into life and will probably bloom within a few days; and the three cherry trees I planted last summer, bringing my total to five are already budding.

Life is good; weather today is not great but loads to look forward to: end of lockdown; libraries and coffee shops reopening; face to face meets with friends permissible; garden centres open for browsing; second jab in May; grateful to be alive and well, with no long-Covid symptoms.

And the damp start provides an ideal excuse to stay in bed!

on the hill NordWest of

I'm still in bed having my third cup of tea with my portion of sunshine in form of vitamin D3 tablets.

To keep it positive at least we've over 10 degrees.

To be fair... temperatures are up for this time of year and there's no cold in it like previous years so I'm liking that as a good start. As for having the luxury of normality over summer is not looking at all likely unless they get a serious crack on with vaccinations. At the moment I can't see pubs or restaurants being opened. We're looking at warmer longer days ahead(last light now is 8.31) and ppl are going to be finding it very hard to stay in our stay put. It's hard to see a way out of this when numbers are still up in the 600s. Those are still very dangerous numbers but we can't seem to really get below that number.

It's a really shitty thing to have to deal with isn't it... and yet we can still count ourselves very lucky considering the part of the world we live in. I wish I had one of those thingymagigys they have in avengers and just click my fingers.

Yup and a long winter, so I could do with 2 fit gents, one on each side, to warm me up.
