Just looking for some helpful advice please.
I'm looking into getting a vasectomy and just looking for some advice or first hand experience on the pro's and cons of the different procedures.
Any advice would be much appreciated thanks  |

Good friend of mine had it done a year and a half ago... Local anesthetic.. Took 30 mins to do. He was a bit tender below and there was some swelling but 6 packs of frozen peas later he was fine. Refletively minor procedure ovrrall |

Have heard some doctors can do it in in the surgery from what I’ve heard through friends slight discomfort and I believe after 3 months your little swimmers won’t be able to swim no more. It’s much easer on a man having this done then a lady getting sterilised. And the plus side has a success rate to reverse it back if you need too. |

Ive had it done and one of the best decisions I ever made
Got in done in clinic in Dublin..€450.00
Made appointment,had a half hours consultation to make sure i understood what was happening
Female doctor carried it out
Injection in ball sac and then a small cut with a scalpel...tubes pulled out,piece cut off and heat sealed which you can smell funnily enough
2 stiches ,cup of tea and a kitkat..4 sheepish looking men all relaxing around a table and all of us worried before we went in
Got taxi home as couldn't drive
Pain hit about 2 hrs later
Lay on couch getting loads of sympathy but painkillers stopped most of it..its like someone is gently squeezing your balls
Hardest thing was keeping the youngest from jumping on top of me
Went back to work Monday with no pain ever since
After 8 weeks sent a sample via post office to uk and another after 12 weeks and have a letter to prove I'm a jaffa

I got it done last April in Mullingar. I drove to and from the clinic. Was pain free and only took 30 minutes. Not sore for the first two days but then a little sore after it. A few painkillers you will be fine. It cost me 400 but well worth it, also depending on your private medical care you can claim money back.

I had the no staple no needle procedure. Basically keyhole procedure and a metal blocker is attached to the snipped ends.
Did not feel a thing and was able to drive back home after.
Would take the rest of the day off work.
Had to shave before the visit and was sore but standard painkillers worked, do not use Ibuprofen.
Sore for a couple of days and tender for al least a couple of weeks.
Will worth the money. |

I had it done in Clane, quick and painless event and away home. Following day my scrotum had swollen to large turnip size and excruciating pain. It was also similar colour to a turnip. Rang clinic and headed to A&E where I was the absolute center of attention. Every nurse and doctor in the department came in for a look. A blood vessel was nicked during the procedure that bled into the sac. Ultrasound showed blood flow in the testes so surgery was put on hold.
I was monitored closely for two weeks by ultrasound and after 5 weeks the swelling began to recede. One ball was left slightly hardened and enlarged but they’re all good.
Apparently I’m the 1%.
Worked though, it’s only safety lotion now. |

2 injections.. snip snip.. done by a gp near the peoples park in limerick. drove home after.. best €450 i ever spent.. lots of fellas talk shit about it, like you get your knob chopped off and you walk around light half a man.

Painful that day, was on the couch for the day but fine after that, bruising gone after 4-5 days I think. For a fairly long time I felt things a little tighter down there as I came, depending on the position, that has eased out over time

Got it done about 10 yrs ago, simple straight forward procedure. Bit tender for a few days after. Sent two samples after to be sure it was successful then done. Best decision ever, birth control is not just for women! Also takes away the worry of any surprises esp at this stage in life, we want to enjoy it now and have fun.

Got mine done 25 yrs ago, simple process, first needle wasn’t bad but the second needle into my other ball was anticipated and as such took a firm grip by the doctor (female)to stop me jumping , got a hard on no problem afterwards though was told to refrain from sex for 6 weeks. That bit was excruciating |

I had mine done in September. No big deal and nothing to be afraid of. Bit tender for a few days but all good. The down side to being a swinger is Mrs will still have to take the pill if we are going to have swinging fun. It wouldn't be ideal getting pregnant after I getting the snip! And yes we always use condoms when playing but you just can't be careful enough. |

Just had one done over Easter in Limerick. No scapal. 30 min and out two days of rest of ice, a week and a fit and fully back to normal. Have to wait a few months now and test as it can take up to four months to get rid of all the sperm in the system. |

Anesthetic and cost will depend on who does it. I got quoted about €2,000 by a surgeon who will take you in as a day patient, will only do it under general anesthetic and you'll need someone to collect you. Then I heard my GP did it under local for €450. No scalpel or stitches, he opted to spread the skin. Didn't feel a thing. Had a bleed under the skin so everything went black n blue for a couple of days and was a bit swollen/ tender but would definitely recommend getting it done. |

Got it done at 28. Had all the offspring we wanted by then so made sense. Doesn't hurt, but smells like BBQ ha! I got the solder rather than the cut and tie so no going back. I was back on the saddle that night, which wasn't the brightest idea in the world |

Had it done in a clinic in Dublin in January. In and out in 20 mins. Tiny hole and sore for about an hour after but a few paracetamol and all good by the next day.
I had the non scalpel with the 2 clips.
Had sex 3 days later and cum was a little pink but no ill effects.
Submitted a sample 12 weeks later and got my letter to say I'm clear a few weeks ago.
Guy that did mine has done thousands of them and I had zero issues after it and would recommend it just for the peace of mind it gives when having sex. |

I used to assist the doctor..doing vasectomy.
Best advice. Read the success rate of the doctor. Gp was 99.9% no complications 100% no failure
