1. Are they any good for when your driving/ running/ chilling

2. What's the best app for getting them

3. Also podcasts, I don't understand them at all so what are they all about

Audible is what I'm using, its free for a few months...

You can buy the books, listen to them and then return them for credits that you can use for other books...

Spotify for music and podcasts,

I use audible and of out walking I sometimes listen to books. When driving I listen to podcasts on Spotify there's a huge array of genre to listen to.

My dad wrote a porno - is hilarious and definitely helped on my commute home from work at 8am.

Theres plenty of sport ones, think if you search podcast on here probably get a few threads back with suggestions

I love podcasts, it's just like an in-demand talk radio show basically!

They usually have a theme, it's two or more people discussing a topic or interviewing a guest. There's a podcast for literally everything - if someone, somewhere is interested in it, there's at least 5 podcasts about it!!

There's also more narrative ones which are telling a story over several parts, like an audio documentary.

And then there are fiction podcasts too, which tell a written story, like a radio play.

Recommendations for podcast newbies - Serial (season 1), This American Life, West Cork, Stuff You Should Know, Radiolab, No Such Thing as a Fish, S-Town.

People generally use their phone's own podcast app (Apple Podcasts or Google Podcasts) but you can also use Spotify, Stitcher or Acast.

My personal favourite is the hilarious Irish sex podcast Pure Filth

Audible is definitely the best platform for audio books. And Spotify is fantastic for music etc but they often don't carry ever podcast, not a big issue but the is an app called Player FM use it completely free and I have never failed to find any podcast I've been looking for on it it. Highly recommend TESD podcast

For sport I enjoy The Peter Crouch podcast

Pure filth has been my favourite podcast so far especially to hear two very funny fab ladies discuss stuff half of which I'd never heard of before.

Mind you between that and my dad wrote a porno staying on the home screen of my spotify account God only knows what my kids think of what I listen too

BorrowBox is the best app for ebooks and audio books.

It's totally free and you use your library number to log in. (You can sign up to the library online and get an instant number and pin if you don't already have one). I used to have audible but owning the books isnt important to me so having it free for a month is perfect for me and my bank balance.

As for podcasts, they're not really my thing. If you were ever into radio talk shows you will probably like them but if not, probably not.

I used Audible for some time, it's the best but the service is annoying. 1 token per month etc.

I use YouTube premium and it works wonders for me. Though I do prefer to read book in hand

Agree totally re library and App.

Also use Audible .

Book recommendations for Fab related

‘The Ethical Slut’ about poly lifestyles

‘Shantaram’ just a brilliant audiobook

‘A Gentleman in Moscow’ also brilliant.

Audiobooks are great for walking and podcasts better for driving.

Enjoy !

Borrowbox is free for audiobooks and ebooks, compared to a monthly charge with Audible.

I listen to books when I'm walking or driving or just doing stuff in the kitchen.

Pod Save America is a great podcast.
