KK

Hardly going to be any cheaper than booking for the night. Just leave early if you need to

Leitrim

Would you be bothered with all that hassle for an afternoon ride. Stay the night.

There's zero hassle booking a day use room. It's just the same as booking for the night.

They generally charge as much for a day as they do for a night, just ring your chosen hotel and ask them if they have a room available “now” book in prepay and leave when it suits ya

I assume some people use it to rest , but the majority of day use are rooms are for one purpose only

You don’t give your card details so a last minute cancellation is grand

Most day use hotels are close to the airport.

Tip Hackballscross..Monaghan..

Some hotels can be pricey when booking tru an online service I found its much better to check out availability if not so far away then just turn up

wouldn't you like to know

Another option are Airbnb. You can find full apartments or houses and ask just to rent for the day or couple of hours and you be suprised how many will give a special rate.

Having worked in hotels for too many years.. day use can mean a variety of things. Which typically was for an “office”…. arrive after 10 And clear out of the room by 4… no heavy housekeeping in pre Covid to allow for arrival in room post 6pm, or the other option of early arrival and out by noon for the overnight traveller.

The Airbnb one is interesting, and in many parts of the world there are “love” hotels for just that purpose… book in 2 hr slots. Some suggest it’s the way for hotels to reinvent themselves…. Think about arrive at midnight-depart at 8am… turn the room around, next person 10-6… etc… potentially more revenue per room.

But to not overcomplicate, book the room, ask for early arrival, enjoy and leave when suits ya. For many of the hotels around, not uncommon to find out room wasn’t used for any actual sleeping.

Enjoy!

Don't bother i offered a free deluxe room for the night in Galway and no one took me up on it, people are still afraid to meet.
