After reading the article, I definitely would think twice and twice more before engaging.

It would be interesting to hear from women who have both no problem and those who have.

We can all learn.

Very interesting that I've NEVER seen a thread where a woman is suffering from the issues mentioned after anal sex. It's either too taboo to bring up, or very rare. I'm not sure which.

"Very interesting that I've NEVER seen a thread where a woman is suffering from the issues mentioned after anal sex. It's either too taboo to bring up, or very rare. I'm not sure which. "

There is quite a good thread on Mumsnet, about a woman querying whether she should go to a doctor to get checked after husband accidentally went from anal to vag in fully consentual, but d*unken sex. The question was along the lines of do I need to get checked because poo bacteria will have gotten into my vagina.

Great discussion with plenty of female sexuality shaming and anal sex supporters and shamers and people really thinking it out.

It's not about liking it or disliking it or preferences, it's about understanding it and the differences between male and female anatomy.

Women are more prone to injury through anal sex than men are, women have weaker sphincters and they don't have a prostrate gland.its just good to know this stuff.

I think women being mildly injured from sex is not all that taboo. It's seen as a joke to get cystitis or a bruised urethra from a heavy sex session.

Women s health and bodies need to be valued enough to at least put the effort in to understand what's good and healthy for them and what's potentially damaging for them.

They are not just vessels with different holes to be tried out for mens pleasure.

otally agree we need to understand this and respect biological differnces... But men and women aren't going to understand this unless we have a dialogue which just hasn't happened so far. Accidental anal-to-vaginal sex is something different.

I know, but your question was, do women get injured, is this actually something that happens and it's too taboo to talk about, or is it something that doesn't happen much.

On the mumsnet thread, there are replies from people who ve been injured and needed surgery etc. So, if anyone is interested there is good info on there. There's also plenty of people who enjoy it in a safe way.

Also (obviously!) female sexuality shaming isn't good, and it's on the mumsnet thread, but it's good for people to call it out and consider it.

My question was wondering why there aren't threads here about this issue if it's a common widespread issue as the article suggests. I'd hope that our community here are open to talking about this stuff as it's going to effect us. As a man I don't want to cause any woman any physical issues over something that's supposed to be fun for everyone.

Somewhere in Co. Down

Yes anal can cause issues for women especially it's claimed to be the "accidental" anal.Which I really don't see how it can happen accidently because it take a lot more pressure to do anal than vaginal sex especially when not lubed.

And yes I was badly hurt by an ex partner years ago when he did this and continued even tho I was screaming at him to stop but sure it was okay as it was "accidental' and just a bit of rough sex he claimed after.

I had to go to the doctor after as I was so hurt internally. And it made me terrified to even try it after with anyone. It took a lot of trust in someone to try it many many years later.

I've had men I met who try and push for it and even on here I had a guy who tried to just slip it in on a meet. And he couldn't understand why I ended the meet right then. And yes we had discussed it before we met and I told him if was a definite no from me but decided his wants were more important when we met.

Yes anal can be enjoyable and great when it's done right, but when it's not done right it can cause serious injuries. And can leave the other person mentally traumatise and well as the physical injury.

Anal sex has become more common over the past few decades, and is perfectly satisfactory between two or more consenting adults, but anal sex as seen in most pornography gives a false impression!

This is an awful experience.

This falls under the no means no category for me.

No one (woman or man) should ever be put through this.

While it may be an old happening, and this a non judgemental site, this is a line, where I would gladly be called judgmental!

Sounds like r and ends with e..that's not a nice experience at all..as long as both parties agree to it I see no issue but when someone says stop you have to stop..an anal sphincter was designed to force excrement from the body ..strictly one way traffic ..pushing something the opposite way will loosen this sphincter and over time youll lose control of your bowels .. incontinence will happen
