Hi all, after an unexpected turn out for drinks a few weeks ago and general chat since, I'm just checking the interest of a Galway city social over the next few months
I've no intention of going through the hassle of major organisation like some of the legends who arrange things around. But I'll go as far as trying to get drinks deals or something depending on interest.
So: would you come to Galway city for a social event (with nothing else organised)?
The last one was in a public bar, would this be an issue for you? (Best behaviour!)
What sorta dates/days suit? (The last one was a bank holiday Sunday evening)
There's no need to PM me at this stage, but if you'd be VERY likely to come then let me know what sorta date/day would suit.
Ideally I'll just be able to say there's a bunch of us meeting at X venue on X date and that's all. Any other arrangements for extra curriculars would be between yourselves  |

This is a much bigger response than I had imagined. Just to be clear I'll likely pick a random weekend date in June and give notice in May. If you can attend, great. If you can't, no bother. There'll be another one in July and August if people like. Surely most of the interested people will be able to get to one of them.
And it's just a social, so if you want to be gone by 10 that's entirely up to you! I'm not organising a party or entertainment..

Hopefully we can do another night in July and a third in August, but I'm just making a call for anyone who needs time to plan:
June 2nd, Bank Holiday Sunday night. First Galway social of the summer.
All welcome, very chill, public venue (tbd based on numbers) no entrance fee, none of that organisation. But if you'd like to come to Galway and meet a few friendly folk in a neutral setting then comment below of that date works for you
I'll do a Kik/telegram group closer to the date. I know bank holiday hotel prices will be criminal for anyone travelling but gotta start somewhere with deciding stuff.
I'm sorry if the first date doesn't suit people, hopefully another of the summer evenings will. But for those it does suit, let's get the ball rolling |
