its a very natural body function. nothing to be afraid of. I think its ok once the two people involved are comfortable with each other.
I also find it a very horny time- not saying i've had much sex whiles having a period but i do know someone that is very naughty and doesn't care..

Apparently a woman's libido increases both during ovulation and during menstration.
I think it would be ungentlemanly not to help satisfy her urges if she asks.

I don't mind if he doesn't. I tend to get quite horny before and during.
