What do we all think of what he said on his social media accounts and how he's had to deactivate them due to the backlash. Personally I thought he spoke very well and made good points.

I'm unaware and his accounts are deactivated. What good points did he make?

His video is still available I think, it's very neutral but that's my take.

Haven't actually seen his post but got a brief idea from someone on what he said. I have always liked his honesty. This world has gotten a bit too sensitive. No one can have an opinion anymore. It's a sad predicament.

Said there an immigration problem and the systems we have are been taken advantage of and that dublin is less safe now, not just because of immigration

I have followed him for ages. I watched the video and he was honest, articulate and very honest.

He didn't offend anyone.

When I think of other people who have spoke on our behalf etc in the last few weeks. Garron was a gent and I think he spoke about how most of this country feel

Yep, that's pretty much what happened 🙄

No one in the public eye nowadays can voice a opinion without getting cancelled or get ridiculed it's a joke.

This what he said.

Yep that's how I felt about it , unfortunately I think there's always people who get their info from sound bites, rather then his comments as a whole.

A decent chap,

I don't think he siad anything offensive or wrong, what he said was very balanced and fair to be honest. I genuinely feel sorry for the guy, he's a decent bloke who expressed his opinion are being hounded for it.

Twitter / X is a cesspit of MAGA propaganda

Garron Noone seems like one of the genuine good guys….. shame he’s deleted his accounts…. Hopefully will be back soon…..

World is in a darker place in recent years…… hence why I switched to Fabs over Sky News 😉😆

I know nothing about the man but if I had the Tate brothers coming out to back me I would delete everything too. Who would want to be associated with them?

Thanks be to christ I've never been into influencer culture or social media celebrities in any way.

I don't think anyone's actually "cancelled" this fella have they? Criticised yeah. Of course he's going to be criticised by some.

Look, he's a fella whose income relies on being endorsed by convenience shop chains and whoever else for making jokes about rolls and cups of tea. He has to know that touching on anything political is going to cause a reaction.

If he'd said something like he doesn't think it's sustainable to place too many people into towns and villages where there is not enough resources and infrastructure to host them, I'd say hmm, well yes you probably have a point there. But he leaned into dog whistling stuff - immigrants are contributing to rising crime levels etc.

Now, if I'm Spar or SuperValu or Centra or whoever, that's going to set off alarm bells and I'm not going to want my brand associated with this type of thing...

A load of nonsense.

Dont read the comments under what you post, or stand by what you say and be true to your convictions.

It's great when someone speaks sense and changes your mind, unfortunately a lot of what we hear is resonating from the echo chamber of super political correctness.

Good summary. In an ideal world people producing media in public would need to research what they are saying and make sure it's fully aligned with reality (using things like crime statistics) rather than regurgitating dog whistles they heard. I know that's not how the world works though and any gobshite can repeat anything they heard from someone else ranting incoherently on the internet or down the pub.

When the hell did someone leaving a platform because people disagreed mean that they were cancelled!? Can we bring back "snowflake" yet?

I was going to comment last night, but I fell asleep 😊 You're right he wasn't cancelled. He made social commentary, some people disagreed and he immediately chose to delete his accounts 🤷 I kinda think if you're voicing opinion on a social media platform you will surely expect that some people will disagree.

I don’t think it’s the comments as such, from what I saw they were pretty positive … it’s the private DMs that bond of us see and they are soul destroying when it’s constant

Also he’s been very public about his mental health so maybe this was a tactic to look after himself! Regardless he’s getting extremely strong support now

You're 100% right it's the private messages he was receiving by people whom didn't agree with what he had to say so he took down all his social media to prevent them messaging him anymore.

The people who is he close to on social media came out to talking about the backlash he received and then they ended up getting private messages about the situation.

People are getting too comfortable being a key board warrior.
