I’m always intrigued how everyone on here is mostly discrete and private, no face pictures, only meet in a hotel etc, but will happily attend a social event and walk into a room full of people and be fully exposed in that sense.
The fear of knowing someone, or someone taking secret pictures…
So, what advise can people offer to someone who has never gone to an event to quash those first time myths or nerves? |

Firstly cameras are not allowed and everyone respects that and follows the rules.
Secondly, everyone attending a social has been checked over and known to be genuine. Every event organizer has their own process of doing this. It gives people attending the knowledge they are in a safe environment.
As regards meeting people you may know, it does happen sometimes but everyone is there for the same reason and I have never yet seen it be an issue. |

Sure everyone there for same reason, ya got to just not over think it or you would drive yourself crazy.
You couldn't meet a nice pair of organisers who I know personally and they look after newbies very well.
Feel the fear but do it anyway xx |

"So I just found out about this yesterday evening.
Unfortunately I'm on holidays at that time but would be interested in attending future socials.
Thanks
