So this may be different but here goes
My sister had a cataract - clear lens implant - operation and had lens inserted which were multi focal.
I had normal lens in same operation
She has great eyesight since. As I do.
If your optician recommends them they should be fine |

"Have been recommended them but have yet to try them. I'm happy enough with reading glasses, and have reduced my contact lenses strength slightly "
I'd love to only need glasses for reading I'm reallllly old so I have three prescriptions in my glasses.
Had them for about six years now and hate them with a passion. |

"Reaching out to the mountain of knowledge that is Fab to ask....
.... does anyone have experience of mutifocal contact lenses?? 🤓" I wear a multifocal lens in one eye and a standard lens in the other when I'm not wearing my varifocal glasses. If you need to know anything just ask |

Tried both lens and glasses, found them both abysmal and went back to standard single visions lens for both.
Like others on here, got brutal headaches and dizziness.
Gave them a fair go for 3 months before going back to the opticians. |

Yes, I wear varifocals. -3 & +1.5
If people are getting headaches, likely the prescription is not right. It also takes time to get used to them.
But, I'm wearing contacts 30 years? Jeebus, those hard plastic lenses *puke
There are daily and monthly lenses available. |

Ive spent 24 hrs wondering how you get a multi focal lens into your eye the right way round as I assumed it was like a bi focal set of glasses
Never realised it was different for each eye
How thick am I |

I wear multifocal lenses.+3,+3.5. I only wear them if I'm going out as I find they are not as good as my glasses. On the plus, side I suffer with dry eyes and have no problem when I wear lenses.I use dailies and a month supply is about €70,but as I don't wear them every day I get about 6/8months from them. |

Lense mail. Specsavers plan, is €47 a month for dailies. Monthly lenses(there are varifocal versions) were €22, but that's one pair.
I used to wear monthlies constantly. Designed for it, but they still recommend nightly removal. Case by case bases on safety of that. I got lucky there. |

Don't understand the technology, but I know they work. My eyesight with the only single vision lenses was better than 20/20. Slightly less with these. But both eyes have the same prescription.
By the way, there is a proper side to the lenses. Put them on if they have flipped(soft lense remember) and they will iritate your eye badly. You can tell when you see the curve of the lenses up close. |
