Is "paying it forward" something you would do as a response to having received a kindness yourself.
Would you pay for a coffee for the next person in the queue, a total stranger, without them knowing why.
Is it a kindness or is it creepy?

I would feel a bit awkward doing that tbf but do buy food/hot drinks for the homeless people instead. |

I’ve not done the pay it forward thing but have on occasion paid for something for someone when there card didn’t work in the supermarket, I obviously had a look at the total 1st
I’d like to think that if I had a few quids worth of shopping and the same thing happened to me, that it may be reciprocated but I’ve thankfully not been in that position |
