Anyone else give this a try lately?
Used to do this in my younger days when traning(heavy weights) as a way to cut. Any givea it a go in their late 30s /early 40s! Started it two weeks ago, where I eat a good meal once a day, anywhere between 16-24hours between meals. Im sleeping better and have more energy, would love to hear others people experience of it as they got older. Plus before anyone spouts its not good for you or medical evidence doest back it up. I eat a well balanced meal, with carbs/protein and small amount of fats, plus plenty of water over the course if the day |

I did it about 5 years ago I was also doing a lot of weight training at the time. I lost nearly three stone.
But, let's be honest, it requires a very healthy diet. It's really just another form of calorie restriction.
If you just have a healthy diet and don't overeat, you'll get similar results. Fasting probably just adds a bit of structure for the those of with less discipline around eating. |

I hate breckfast. Years ago when i was young i use to eat 1 main meal a day. It wasnt about weight. Was simply time. Between work and social life i eat a dinner amd drank loads of water. Never affected me health wise. From time to time i would still do it when life/work is busy. |

I do it unintentionally. I can't eat first thing so I usually eat my first meal at around 12-2pm, and last meat around 8-9:30.
It's not a magic weight loss trick though, as you still have to eat well. If you're eating junk then it's pointless.
The benefit is more to give your digestive system a break and to limit insulin spikes. |

I try to do it once a week, have a banana and orange for breakfast, and then not eat till 7 that evening, I feel it resets my system, and it's even better if I'm doing something physical during the day |

"I'm pretty sure this is just another calorie deficit diet " no its not like that at all, a real intermediating fasting diet allows the person to eat basically a days worth of calories in one sitiing give or take. Atm i consume around 1900 calories, in a one meal sitting , fruit, nuts, cows milk, meat, veg bit o chocolate with a black coffee afterwards. Now the calorie intake csn vary depending on the day and once the hungry monster is full , i stop, and drink lots of water, my skin is better, better energy and sleeping better, yes its a short term thing but happy to give it 6-8week run

I started a few months back, fast 4 days a week for 12 to 16 hours each day. Changed my diet a bit, try walk after my dinner and get a good long walk on some weekends. Not working out, just doing it to lose weight, so far I am down from 18 to 16 stone and feel better. |

Averaged out over the week though you'll likely be in deficit, no? |

Thats the thing, 1900cals a day is a big deficit. About 7 years ago, i was carrying a bit extra, did 1800-1900 cals a day, and lost over two stone in about 8 weeks. Eating healthy, sleeping well and keeping consistent!
I did it while intermittent fasting, but I really only used the fasting for structure and discipline. |
