Anyone ever stay in the Lough and Quay in Warrenpoint, we're thinking of staying there as got a great Groupon deal. Would love some feedback before hand, checked trip advisor which on the whole gives a good impression of the place

It's a new venture on an old site - Previously known as "Mac's Bar" search for reviews on that and well... Now, having said that the new place is WAY better than the old one - I can't vouch for the rooms but the actual place itself is brilliant, food is first class and it tends to have a lot of live blues music at the weekends. Only downside is that it is next to the Marine tavern and it's Club Cheri disco - it can get a bit noisy after chucking out time

Yes, there are plenty of good spots in Warrenpoint, the old ship bar has been recently renovated, there is the Whistledown and Balmoral hotels both with 1st class restaurants in them, the Whistledown for me would be the best of them all. If money is tight, there are plenty of carry outs (both food and drink) and is a far cry from the old days with just a couple of chippys and a few rather seedy bars

Oh, you have to try the Genoa, over 100 years in the town and it's fish suppers are excellent and it's ice cream superb.

I think the tourist board owes me a few quid now
