I think romance boils down to thoughtfulness really
I was in hosp afew wks ago, texted my ex to say I going down for the op at 1230 and would text him when I was out, the op took way longer then I expected and when I came around it was 8pm and I was brought up to the ward and there he was, sitting beside my bed. He had been ringing the hosp all day to see when I would be out of surgery and when they couldn't give him an answer he arrived over and waited all day. Just to make sure I was ok. Then he went off and found a nurse and got me tea and toast and sat on my bed pouring me tea and buttering my toast so sweet and thoughtful |

Not a very romantic individual me
But one bf of mine drove us to a beach, draw a heart on the sand, and played our song and we danced, day after he drove to my wprkplace and left a rose and a card on my dashboard, best thing, it was just a normal day, no anniversary or anything, it was just lovely |

most romantic for me was being rushed into a&e in severe pain while visiting an ex, he spent the day minding my spawn before doing a round trip bringing her home to kildare and back to cork to where I was in hospital so Id have peace of mind she was safe while I was in |

I totes agree, it's the not expecting anything in return is what I love about the little gestures!! thoughtfulness goes a long way in my book!!! |

money was tight one year coming up to herselfs birthday,so with the help of some of our kids I covered a small woodland clearing just up the mountain with wildflowers (two days of picking) and about a hundred nightlights , pitched a tent and had a wonderfully romantic picnic and sleep out (til the midges devoured us ) |

Hmm
I look at my little pebble from the beach and remember and feel all fluttery and happy and know that my pebble has a twin pebble that makes someone else smile. So that's what the most romantic thing for me is. Two people having two pebbles and being happy with their pebbles and remembering their pebbles.
Also being sent two little blue flowers. That was also very nice.

An ex was amazing with all the small things.
He would see I'm down and make a cup of tea, nearly kill himself falling up stairs (yes UP) to get it to me. He would come back from shop when I was stressed or down with my favorite piece of chocolate. He came back from holidays with a piece of amber for me as he remembered I said I loved it once (yes once). He did a great scrambled eggs & used to bring it to bed and have to wake me up to eat them cause he got out of bed so quietly.
Mr R for first time in ages got me flowers yesterday for no reason and its such a lovely surprise when your not thinking walk into kitchen and there is this lovely splash of colour even better there was no reason behind it. Even had a candle lit dinner recently. There are the usual things like going out on valentines but its the small things unique to ye that is best.
Think I'm spoilt.
I do things also so it's not one sided.
I think the little thoughtful things are more romantic then 1 big gester.
