That's what I meant when I said dry lined, I have 50mm insulated slab on all exterior walls. Had to use dry wall fiixings, they are the metal worm you screw into the slab 1st and then a screw goes into in. Use the metal 1's not the plastic and you have to be careful not to over screw them or you will just ring the plasterboard

Bad idea right there: you paint the curtain pole AFTER you put it up, not before. Your hands are gonna get destroyed now trying to hold that thing up in place.

There are actually plastic ones for plasterboard specifically that work fabulously, only used them the other day, way better than the metal ones.

What if you have a 35mm interior insulated slab?

That's what I meant when I said dry lined, I have 50mm insulated slab on all exterior walls. Had to use dry wall fiixings, they are the metal worm you screw into the slab 1st and then a screw goes into in. Use the metal 1's not the plastic and you have to be careful not to over screw them or you will just ring the plasterboard

There are actually plastic ones for plasterboard specifically that work fabulously, only used them the other day, way better than the metal ones.

Dh i might look for your help when im doing it "

You can do it Rover, I've no doubts, it's just a question of perseverance. The more you do the easier it gets and it starts being quite rewarding. Installed a whole shower in January plumbing bits and everything. Works like a treat.

whole new meaning to"getting up the pole"

there are great DIY assist videos on YouTube

the guys are just jealous of your DIY skill...all they can turn their hand to is "choking the chicken"

put the curtain pole up when the painting is finished.

measure twice, drill once

best of luck with the work & if you get stuck DH will be of more help than the one handed guys
