That insulin is a bit moorish if you ask me.

It's a small sensor that you attach to your arm. Not always as precise as a blood test but good at showing patterns and trends

The Libre sends data to your phone, and tells you if your BM is stable, gently rising/ falling, or rapidly rising/ falling.

Very expensive, unless you get local authority funding.

It samples fluid between the cells, which can be slightly different to blood glucose.

36 years hear. Not been swayed by the pump yet, not sure how I'd get on with something attached to me.

The libre isn't too bad as it's small. Last month I had a bleed at the back of my right eye that hasn't cleared up. Thinking it might be here to stay so might not be driving post lockdown

"Best of luck with it. Sorry to hear that you are in hospital "

Yea it’s a bummer really.

In the middle of nowhere surrounded by beautiful countryside in a lovely single room with amazing food.

Tough but I’m getting through it.

Plus I will get my levels good for the first time in 23 years.

Whatever helps. Found getting it under control in hospital didn't translate to real life due to the lack of movement.

Much easier now with the sensor to show what's happening in real time

Agree about movement as today they have stopped me going for walks.

Plus I’ve been doing it all wrong for 23 years and I can’t run so high forever.

Pump and meter are coming tomorrow and look ok and easy to use so scared but looking forward to that!!!!

I'm type 1 and have been for a long time. Libre meter isn't much use for me personally as its not dvla compliant. Dvla still want actual blood tests so I ditched it but I would imagine it would be good in most other situations.

The dvla advice was changed last February to allow the Sensors for driving. Blood tests no longer required

Breakfast done.

Four pieces of baguette

Two little packets of president butter

Piece of lovely ham

Bowl of coffee

Excellent start to the day and only two hours til I get fitted for my pump which is exciting but scary as I’m a numbnuts dufus technophobe.

I’d like to just say thank you to those that have posted on this thread as it’s really helped me personally and has made the sensor and pump seem less bionic manish and understandable.

Cheers

I have heard about an injection that I’m sure begins with a v that’s like metaforim .

I’m a twat and in 23 years have never taken it seriously which is why I’m impotent and I don’t jizz as it goes into my bladdder when i cum.

I’ve had 13 lazer eye ops and can have no more so its going blind for me.

And the doc has just been in to tell me my liver is failing yet being in hospital now for four days and being put back to factory settings I feel amazing and want to continue feeling this way instead of sleeping all day eating then sleeping at night.

Take it seriously

Look after yourself

And live your best life Flirty.

I have done a reasonable job of controlling it other than not bothering much as a teenager. Even trying hard it didn't behave as they said it should and now I am getting some complications. Have a big black blob in my right eye that appeared at the end of March and hasn't shifted.

Hope that your factory reset helps

If you have not done already I’d get your blob looked at as it may just be leakage which is easy to sort out with sappy lazer treatment even if it is a tad painful.

Factory settings is feeling great and just reinforces what a total cunt I’ve been over the years so hopefully once I’m all pumped up and discharged I can carry on keeping my levels as near to normal as I possibly can.

I’ve been running at between 30 and 40 and being in hospital they have me down to 20 so it’s just a bit more to go and then keep it there.

My daughter is type 1 and has to pay for them, pharmacy let's us have them at cost price but still expensive.

How do we get them for free.

She maintains her levels very well maybe that's the reason

When I was residing in the UK all meds were free as a type one so I’d suggest that she asks her doctor or chemist for guidance on getting the meter.

Best of luck.

The good levels may be a reason, my local ccg said that I had to have a certain hba1c but I thought that had changed

Spoke to my daughter who says she is on an old type of insulin, didn't want to change as she is well maintained and happy.

GP told her before she can move on she will need to be prescribed a new form of insulin, which she is in the process of injecting.

I can understand her being resistant to the change as her balance is so well maintained on her usual regime.

Let's just see how in pans out, main thing is she stays well.

Thanks for the advice.

I’m on low carb voluntarily, I get pretty good numbers when I’m on low carb.

It’s a pain but if it works...

It’s been proven that type two,s can come off all treatments by using a strict balanced diet.

That’s what this hospital I’m in at the moment specializes in and in a week they have taken my bloods from 30 down to 8 this morning which for me is a bit of a major first.

The thing is with diabetes is if you disrespect it then it fucks you over but if you treat it with respect you can live with it every day without it affecting you much.

Damn I’m looking forward to lunch now!!!!
