Hello all. My wife and i will be having a short city break to London from Thursday to Sunday staying round by London Bridge. Any recommendations of bars and restaurants day and night would be appreciated considering the Covid issues.

It could be why you're asking, but just in case - make sure you try and book up wherever you plan to go in advance. Maybe even give a few places a ring.

Restaurant-wise you may struggle in a few places with the little notice. Bars will be less tricky to get into, but they're definitely still limiting people in venues.

I work right in the area. Let me walk your and your wife around the best spots

Kidding! (Or am I?)

The barrowboy and banker, the mudlark, borough market , the anchor on the Thames and the horniman are all very nice pubs

You could get the clipper up Waterloo bridge and visit Proud Embankment for a burlesque cabaret show.

Plenty of good places to eat round there as well or they do dinner and a show.

I think the dualing piano bars in Faringdon or Leicester Square are now open again as well, they used to be great fun pre-COVID.

May be look at booking a bottom Brunch all thought most of these tend to be Saturday/Sunday depending how you are travelling.

Secret London and Fever are two good websites to look for ideas and book places to eat, drink and visit and have plenty of unique and exclusive ideas.

Final thing would be to a Jack the Ripper walking tour, there are some really good ones if they are running again. Can be quite fun doing the later evening ones.

Spitafields and borough market are the best spots for a beer and food which are walking distance. If it’s nice weather just take a walk down the south bank past Tate modern

I regularly visit London with work and stay the weekend if the days fall right.

Some really good nights out and some quirky unusual pubs to discover, such a shame some of the best night life areas will really be struggling due to the new restrictions.
