Southend seaside meet up

I’m out of my hibernation (can you tell?) and I often like to take a train trip to Southend on Saturday when I have a chance, just to walk on the beach, have some food and drink and relax.
I was wondering would there be any interest to possibly meet up for some social on the beach type of thing for a few of us, what do you think? |

People are just simply not interested.
Sunny weather would be preferable, for some spot of sunbathing, if there’s a chance of course. |

By free day I mean I don't have anything already in my diary.
A day by the sea would be lovely, even if it's not hot out. |

It would be nice if you could join. I think the most walking is going to be from the station to get to the beach, then we can just sit and relax. |

"I was meant to go last weekend but plans changed. May I suggest Shoeburyness? It's a bit further along but more peaceful. Not to mention far easier to find parking."
I suggested Southend as I don’t drive so pretty much easily accessible for those who don’t also drive, or maybe would like to have a drink possibly.
It’s an easy and cheerful train ride from where I live. |

Depending on dates and time this sounds like a good idea.Not sure how the OP feels about this but I ask.Is it practical for those traveling by train to perhaps meet at the same train station and go together or would the OP and others prefer to take different train routes to get there. |

I think it’s not a bad idea, especially if you choose the flexible ticket option.
We could always meet at Stratford station if it suits people, otherwise just somewhere in Southend. |

. That’s fair enough I look into the flexible ticket option.If not then for me I can get a train straight to Liverpool Street and from there straight to Southend or though it possibly stops at Stratford so may end up coming across others making the same journey anyway |

Yes, I think it stops at both Liverpool Street and Stratford. Then it’s just the case of taking the same train  always better to spend the journey in nice company.

There's also a pub on the seafront or a Wetherspoons by Southend Central Station if we want a drink and a cheap meal. Or the chippy for proper seaside fish and chips |

Fantastic idea to get people out and about together!
I've been to Southend a few times over the winter so it'll be nice to go when the weather is nicer.
Happy to offer 1-2 people lifts to & from Romford, as I'll most likely drive if invited.  |
