Tired of London, Tired of Life
Jump to: Newest in thread
There's that quote that goes something like when a man is tired of London, he's tired of life. And I think about that all the time when I'm dreading going into London on the train and trying to give myself excitement for all the possibilities I'm missing out on.
What are your favourite spots or things to do in London? |

I go for walks. Sometimes in central to see what's new. Sometimes in my local area. I've found some beautiful places to sit and chill, festivals/events I didn't know about and food I haven't tried before.
The route from Tottenham Court Road to Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square is not bad but can be very crowded. Any detours from there are good.
Hyde Park is also a great walk. |

Why, Sir, you find no man, at all intellectual, who is willing to leave London. No, Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford"

Depends what you enjoy, I'm a bit biased as I grew up in London, but it is the greatest city on the planet IMO. If we're talking
food: we have great cuisine from all over the world,
entertainment: theatre shows to rival any other city,
shopping: what ever you need, is available somewhere in London
History: of London is fascinating, whether the remnants of the Roman wall, or ruins of a Roman amphitheatre.
Literature: Dickensian London told us about how the poor lived - Oliver twist.
There's a reason why the whole world wants to come to London, why we're flooded with tourists from everywhere.
I used to work near st Paul's and marvelled at 7am Chinese brides in their wedding gown taking wedding photos in December!

"I love all the suggestions so far, keep them coming.
I’m not actually tired of London. I just thought it was depressing that the London forum thread was so inactive and wanted more comments 😬🙈"
That is odd isn't it, the London forum is not very active. Neither is the London room webcam chat considering it's probably the most open minded and liberal part of the country. 🤔 |

"Me too. Summer in London. So many nice rooftops. Great vibes"
I work in a 5* hotel, one of their newest sister hotels has just opened, it’s just down from Hyde Park, it’s called the Emory. The views from the rooftop bar are fantastic, especially when the sun is out and it’s a clear blue sky.
I’d book a table if you’re thinking of going on a Friday or Saturday night as it’s getting more popular now, mention my name and you’ll get 50% off the bar bill. Only joking, only I get the discount 😂

I still get a buzz traveling into london on the train, especially now the clocks have changed, evening sun, pubs spiling out into the streets, lounging around by the thames or in a park.
Even better with company. |

When fabbers get bored here, they should put up a post to go for a drink or walk ,etc with their fellow fabbers . There is a lot of us in here (London) and there is no point sitting behind the screen while we can enjoy the other fabbers company in real life |
