Home Counties dogging - fact, fiction or figment of fevered imaginations?

So, does dogging still happen? Did it ever happen? The Home Counties have a reputation for being a hotspot for designated public sex sites but other than cruising (which I know def is a thing) there really doesn’t seem to be much action out there.
