Always presume your just messaging them for sex?

I enjoy talking to everyone and anyone. I think some people have lost the art of conversation.

because 99% of the people who message us, even if they say they just want to chat, wait a few messages and then bring sex up.

Firstly - hello from a fellow Lancastrian.
In all honesty - your issue probably lies with the fact that you’re an MM profile. Upon reading it’s clear you’re a couple - but on fab (rather than fab guys) most mm profiles are 2 or more straight (occasionally bi) blokes who’ve grouped together to optimise their chances of appealing to ‘greedy’ females/female of couples. As that’s their primary motivation for the joint profile they tend to be blunt rather than conversational - and dialogue is limited.
I imagine it’ll take a few messages on your part for people to ‘get’ that you’re a genuine couple rather than a manufactured one and wish to be treated accordingly.
