True story, the last time I had sex (ie, fucking eons ago), I was sharing wine on the sofa with a fwb.
At some point, we went and did some sex elsewhere, telly was still on and at some point in doing all the sex, we heard the Blackadder theme come on.
And we sort of mutually decided to stop doing sex and go watch us some bloody Blackadder, it was great
...wait why am I sharing this, am I proud of this story it really makes me look bad at doing sex |

"I'm certainly not saying it is bad or shit, but I just never really got in to it at all. Just never appealed to me, never truely found what all the fuss is about. "
I feel like that about life of Brian but I watched blackadder again tonight and some brilliant innuendo and silly humour. It was a real giggle. |

"Sat in bed watching blackadder laughing my ass off. Anyone else love this show?
Not a fan of the 1st series but the rest were brilliant ??"
Off the top off my head, at 0715 on a Sunday morning, I think BA was nearly cancelled after the first season as it was, I seem to recall, quite an expensive/lavish programme for it's time, with lots of location filming etc. Unfortunately, the scripts by Richard Curtis were a bit flat, but then Ben Elton joined as co writer, the budget was cut, and it became studio bound with little/no location filming and basically BAII took off. I seem to remember it getting a lot of repeats in the mid to late 80s...
I also seem to recall the "Outrage" from the Daily Mail etc about BA goes fourth being set during WW1 and how dare they take the mick. Obviously this was before it was aired and especially before that final episode went out... |

That final episode is so poignant. Television at its very best. |

2 and 4 definitely my favourites, can't really split them. Then 3, and 1.
What I love is that no matter how many times I watch it, I'm laughing at the lines before they say them. |

"All 4 series are good in their own way but I do remember series 1 being a favourite of mine."
Too much Brian Blessed I feel, he can dominate too much but still good series, the "worse" of the four, you're right. |

Blackadder Goes Forth probably had the greatest ending to any sitcom.
It had many a soldier, myself included, with a tear in their eye. Brilliant comedy brought a respectful end.
PS. Loved all the Blackadders. |

Pure comedy green
More a splat of comedy green. "
Of course you know what this means don’t you? That you, Percy, Lord Percy, are an utter berk! |

It's a masterpiece. I know the Flasheart episodes divide opinion but they are probably my favourites:
"Always treat your plane like you treat your woman... get inside her five times a day and take her to heaven and back!" |

Anyone that enjoys the crap that BBC Three passes off as comedy really needs to educate themselves by binge watching Blackadder.
Superb writing, tremendous cast and hasn't aged one bit almost 40 years on since it first aired. Goes Forth is my favourite and the final scene is amazing. Atkinson & Robinson definitely up there with the greatest British comedy acts of all time. |

Baldrick, believe me, eternity in the company of Beelzebub and all his Hellish instruments of death will be a picnic compared to five minutes with me, and this pencil, if we can't replace this dictionary. |
