You could do a food diary? You can use the app MyFitnessPal?
If it’s bloating it’s maybe more of an allergy, intolerance?
Gluten and dairy seem to be triggers for a lot of people |

It might be beneficial to determine whether you have a food allergy; eliminate the suspected entirely for a long period and the reintroduce it, and note any bloating; a lot of people have a gluten allergy. |

Food diary is your best friend for this, then you can note when you get the bloating and reference back to it, hidden ingredients are the worst, but it's how we narrowed down my dairy intolerance x |

As loads above had said, before turning to meds, its definetly worth keeping a food diary for a month of everything you eat and drink as it sounds like something could be triggering it. Note when your bloating starts and ends and if your bowel movements are affected at all. Let us all know how you are getting on |

It's worth accepting that our gut microbiome is very sensitively balanced and can take some time to adjust to us changing our diet/lifestyle etc.
Some changes that we might make can be worth introducing gradually, so our internal microbiome gets chance to adjust progressively.
Most of us don't consume enough fibre but I'd not recommend switching to the recommended level in 1 day - we'd probably struggle.
IBS may be worth having a look at. |

I’m sorry to hear that OP. It could be a dairy thing. Even small amounts of milk or lactose can cause severe bloating. Most soups, sauces and even crisps contain milk, so that’s the first thing I would look for.
The other thing might be onions. They can cause a lot of gas, even shallots.
The third thing is mushrooms. I discovered a few years ago that was unable to digest mushrooms. Instead they ferment in my upper intestine causing bloating, and very bad gas. Then they pass into the lower intestine where the ferment again.
So these days I can’t eat anything with dairy, or mushrooms (or onions to a lesser degree).
But really you should see you gp and get some tests.

I get this too, but no discomfort or allergies that I know of - I just look bloated after eating even a small amount.
"Oh, and speaking as a doctor, the best thing I could recommend is swallowing lots of cum. Just oidles and oodles of cum "
Thanks, doc! |

I can vouch for the overlapping symptoms. As someone with GERD, diverticular disease, IBS/D, oat intolerance (Bromiac disease-my new name for it). This is a bit messy in both senses of the word. Buscopan worked straight away with removing the painful cramps. The other symptoms are still there though.
Even flushing out my innards with Moviprep (See the Picolax thread returns) prior to the endoscopy exam, didn't reset my biome at all. Shame!
as for fibre:
IBS/constipation fibre's a good thing
IBS/diarrhoea fibre's a bad thing
IBS/mixed fibres a mixed bag. |

You can add Crohn's disease into this puzzle as well. Been there, had that. |

"I'm on tablets now to see if it's E.coli or C.diff.
I would have thought if it's either of those you'd be in hospital?? "
Yeah, that's what I thought at the hospital yesterday, being a former catering student, I have been trained on Health and Hygiene, as well as screen to work in several hospital kitchens.
I do have a theory, that cycling on the roads in the rain, over the decades may have exposed me to untold pathogens, coming off the back wheel, in front of me aka 'Rooster tails'. Add the various antibiotics over the same time period, this would be hard on my gut biome. |

Keep complaining and asking for referrals - someone will eventually test for something |

I've had my referral and it took quite a few months. I am nearly a week into Rifaximin and the bloating is still there, but the pooing is now only once a day, which is a start. The GERD is due for a camera inspection next.
Watch this space. |

Research SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth) an overgrowth of bad bacteria. It can happen when the lining of your intestine is damaged causing leaky gut. Pre/Pro-biotics will help, as well as avoiding processed food. |

"I've got this issue whereby my stomach tends to bloat quite easily as a result of consuming food. I'm not one for exercise, but really do want to shift this belly. "
Seriously I eat once (rarely twice) a day. I went on holiday last year and because it was all inclusive made a pig of myself. My digestive system went mental and couldn’t cope.
Maybe look at the quantity you eat in any one sitting. |

Portion control, nutrition, healthy eating and a healthy relationship with food. Plus walking every day, drinking plenty of water, sleeping enough. De stress your life if you can. Cut out some junk food. You'll see the difference. |

If the problem persists after cleaning up your diet and exercising. Try an allergy test, they're cheap these days and very comprehensive.
I did a test and discovered my gut doesn't like coconut and rye? Or barley? Whatever it is that's sometimes found in beer |
