I've been invited to a party, and the invite says "Dress To Impress".

Being a slightly socially awkward bloke, I don't know what that means. I'm used to things saying black tie/ lounge suit/ smart casual/ casual.

How does one dress to impress? Any advice is welcome.

I would take that to mean your smartest clothes. If you're the slightest bit unsure check with the hosts. I wish people wouldn't use ambiguous phrases like that it's a bit exclusive in my opinion.

Suit and tie for the gentlemen. Ladies a smart pencil skirt and jacket with a cravat (like in my pictures). It's good to make an effort and look smart.
