How easy did any ex smokers find actually giving up? I have gone 10 days so far and sometimes think I need a cigarette then pull back and think no I don't.

land of make believe

I love smoking and I don't want to give up.

I have done in the past to save for holidays or gifts though.

When you get a craving try going for a run or cutting up some vegetables, that you can the snack on.

I started knitting and giving myself manicures to keep my hands busy,is there something you could do?

Good luck x

Oh I used to suck polo's lots too.

I’m getting preserved and put on display so women from around the globe can come and mourn me and masturbate at my shrine.

Only if you put them on your feet.

I’m like you I enjoy it , especially these Marlboro, perfect smoke and good price, no nasty pictures on the packets.

The only reason I gave up was the cost and smoking around the kids. The cost in the U.K. and the horrible pictures on packets should be all the incentive you need if you really want to stop

I won't lie to you it was one of the hardest things I did

It took me three attempts over a year with nicotine patches but I did and it was one of the greatest things I did

I used to smoke between 20- 30 a day at my peek and I've now been smoke free over 20 years

Don't give up just keep trying you will fully stop eventually

I only reason i try to smoke less is the cost.

I transfer them from the packet into a box I have so I don't have to look at the pictures.

Shop keepers will give you one with a 'nicer' picture if you ask.

xx

i'm thinking a man performs better in bed if he dosent smoke, what do you ladies think ?

surely a smoker gets out of breath n starts puffing n panting versus a non smoker.

easier for a lady as shes generally not working up a sweat or faster heartrate

I smoked for over 20 years.

Tried everything n couldn't stop.

Woke up one day about 15 years ago n said that's it, didn't plan, didn't use anything just will power n haven't had a cig since. It may have just been my time to give up, who knows.

One thing that did help was to carry a cigarette with me for the first 6 months, so if I ever wanted a cigarette I had one, so I would get it out n play with it, put it in my mouth n puff on it unlit, then put it away.

May sound stupid, but it worked.

15 years on n still stopped n will never go back to it.

When I smoked I was fitter than most people that didn’t.

I do however, like how you just essentially said women do fuck all.

I read a book after trying everything else, it was the social aspect (went to the pub) that drew me back in time and again so I decided to convince myself I didn't need it with a bit of help. Haven't smoked for over a year!

I’ve been stopped for 29 years now. I smoked for 10. I gave up when I broke my hip (see another thread for details) was in hospital for a month, and on morphine for “pain” truth is I never really had any pain despite a broken pelvis part, I unashamedly asked for a ‘strong painkiller’ when I had cravings for a ciggie. Went into hospital a smoker, came out an ex smoker, haven’t smoked since. But the dreams I had about a year later that I was smoking again was awful, it literally had me waking up and reaching for a ciggie…. Told myself to stop dreaming about smoking!
