"Would you rather have a peg leg or an eye patch?"
Eye patch. It’s fuck all to do with losing an eye. It just preserves your “night vision” when you have to go back below deck where it’s dark.
Learned that when I went to the Royal Navy museum in Portsmouth recently.
So yeah I’ll take the eye patch and not lose my leg  |

Eye patch, for the most part pirates wore an eye patch to train on of their eyes for daylight and the other for night time, rather go through that instead of loosing a leg |

Eye patch. Talk to someone eye patch left eye. When they not paying attention switch to right eye. Repeat. Watch their mental state shrivel like a landlubber on a sunny deck. Take their boat.
Repeat until I have an armada of largely mentally fucked sailors who all think I’m a goddess. |

Eye patch as you'll still have one good eye. Does it have to be a peg leg? Surely in 2022 pirates have prosthetics by now? That may completely change my answer... |
