Surprised to see that the moderators have closed the thread on Jokes in bad taste.
With the all the people that post Actual bad taste comments, how can Jokes be banned? |

"Because people can go to far
Because forum rules could be broken
Because some jokes are offensive and could be a trigger for people
Crossing the road can be dangerous. "
I just answered the thread so thanks for the insight |

"Jokes are jokes most are funny to many some to few but if you feel offended just do not take part."
Exactly
Don't put yourself in a position where you could be mortally offended, especially if there is an easy way to avoid it.

You can never ever go too far with a joke! It's a joke and I feel the more offensive the better! Making jokes about really bad situations in the world is a good thing. Not only is it the intimate form of free speech it's also a way of seeing bad situations in a light hearted manner instead of stressing and getting all depressed about it. |

"It’s the world we now live in, I mean have you seen the state of the new breed of stand up comedians, all far to p.c to say anything actually funny.
The mr "
Exactly, that's why Peter Kay resorted to moaning about Garlic Bread!

"Wait, what! There was a bad taste joke thread and I missed it!!!! "
Yes. That was my reaction too.
Now I am gutted. I don’t suppose anyone remembers any of the jokes?
Or perhaps I should not be asking that?

I'm involved in the comedy industry and can categorically state that there are more edgy comics than there are ones that tip toe around subjects.
No act wants to offend their audience, that's not their job and the promoter won't book anyone who kills a night. However, there are many great acts out there who push the envelope.
Feel free to look up:
Freddy Quinne,
Ben Briggs,
Rob Mulholland,
David Eagle,
Adam Rowe,
Jamie Hutchinson,
Dan Nightingale,
Liam Pickford,
Joe Zalias,
Masai Graham,
Phil Carr,
Mr Badger,
Leo Kearse,
Radu Isac,
etc, etc, |

"Being offended personally and on behalf of others is a full time job for some people. "
100%
Equally, purposely posting things that are designed purposely and purely to inflame, anger or push a hate agenda for entertainment value is a full-time job to a few on here.
Making sport out of other people's upset ....when it's genuine upset for justifiable reasons and not just virtue signalling.... is not entertaining imho
Lots of the new shock&awe comedians are just lazy and no-talent wannbees. They'd never stack up against the classic stars who can show up a toxic character trait and have dark humour but still be intelligent and provoke thought not hate. |

Have I disagreed? All I did was give possible reasons why the jokes thread was closed |
