Technically, doesn’t being a virgin mean you’re “pure”, so by that extent whether you’ve surfed a trouser snake or smashed pasties together, you’re no longer “pure”?
Therefore, if you’re a lesbian and did the deed, you’re no longer a virgin?
Thanks for coming to my ted talk. |

Do you need to sleep with a man in order to loose your virginity? Being a virgin means you’ve never had sex before. 2 women can have sex, which means the virgin is no longer a virgin. |

I can’t tell whether you’re being serious, because if you are, then I think you need to stop having ‘debates’ at work
As a lesbian, why would I ever have to be with a man? I’m not going to have sex with a man just to lose my socially constructed virginity
The problem is how rigid people think lesbian sex. It’s often more exciting than just heterosexuality sex.
A lesbian’s virginity isn’t defined by whether or not she’s had sex with a man. Men are so self centred that they think women, especially lesbians, base their worth off them
News flash: as a lesbian, no male exists in my life: yes I may be on here to explore my sexuality, but I have no care for men or what they can offer me unless it’s out of this world and amazing. The whole point of lesbianism is that it doesn’t include men. Why do men struggle to understand that?
And I don’t care if people think I’m being naggy. Why are men so obsessed with lesbians? We don’t care about you |

Nope, they've had sex regardless of whether it was with a man or woman.
Ride a bike or drive a car you're still going to the same destination.
Sorry for the poor analogy! |

"If her hymen is still intact then technically yes.
So girls who ride horses but have never had any kind of sexual contact are not virgins?"
Technically yes. |

Weird.
As far as I was aware the dictionary definition is simply based on sex.
Does that mean those weird hymen reconstructive surgeries do actually make someone a virginity again? Madness. |

I think labels are useful in some circumstances.
Trying to situate lesbians by their relationship to penises... it's a bit like trying to talk about how Russian something is by talking about its relationship to kangaroos. |

It's supposed to be a debate, not a judgement. It takes a very closed mind to not be able to discuss something that "has nothing to do with anyone else other than that individual". The power of speech is one of humankind's greatest achievements and shouldn't be stifled due to discomfiture.

It's the rule of the forum, try to create a light hearted, tongue in cheek thread, it'll turn serious with much offence taken.
Try to create a serious thread, it'll be overtaken with silliness.
Only way to get a thread to stay close to initial post is to get people to talk about themselves. We love that. |

Nope, she's not a virgin,
If she's had sex, she isn't a virgin.
Women can lose Thier hymen at any age regardless of sexual experience, I lost mine very young (I have ridden horses all my life, and was riding 7 days a week and competing)
Gymnasts also are known to lose Thier hymens early too.
So the 'if her hymen is still intact' arguement is out the window, If someone has had penetrative sex of any kind, they are not a virgin.

Conclusion, YES she shouldn't considered as a virgin, period. Sex defination from medieval era doesnt hold much ground in modern society where same sex people are indulged in debuchary. |

"So, are all men virgins because their hymens haven't been broken, or are they born not virgins because they don't have an intact hymen?"
Good point and to why the hymen argument doesn’t really make much sense for virginity |

Obviously. Losing your virginity is a loss of purity and that's only a thing for women. |

We don’t care about you "

Not at all, but a post ranting about men being obsessed with lesbians in reply to a woman asking about them kind of suggests the person who wrote is is as obsessed with ranting about men as she believes men are about lesbians.
Incidentally, despite having several lesbian friends through my life, one of whom used to call me her hetro hubby, I've never been obsessed or even particularly interested in the whole lesbian thing, I don't find their sex life interesting, never mind arousing and know this view is shared by many men. As is often the case, I suspect this poster is using the lazy tactic of taking sex as a way of determining the behaviour of half the population - it's a process that grates on my nerves, whichever way around it is. |

Just cause a person is lesbian doesn't mean they haven't had penetrative sex, dildo is just as good as a dick... Probably better in many cases??
I'd probably say there are different levels of virginity, like when you were wee and people would call you virgin lips cause you hadn't snogged anyone?? |
