With summer on the horizon (if you’re riding a giraffe with HUGE binoculars)

Let’s have those resorts, hotels, restaurants and other accommodations etc that you’d strongly recommend to others and why ?

Or where to avoid !!

And hidden gems (unless you want to keep them hidden)

Like a fab tripadvisor and don’t take it personally if your home town is recommended to avoid its all personal opinion

I’d suggest avoiding brean (just below Weston-super-mud)

Thought they were filming the living dead but nope it was a normal day

East Sussex

Jardins do Lago in Madeira.

Possibly the nicest hotel we've stayed in with staff who genuinely take an interest in guests.

Ilkeston

For those who are more up for a budget holiday and dont mind very very d*unk people yes hostel in lisbon is by far the best! Better than any hotel ive stayed at. €15 for a 3 course meal with a pint or shot. Friendliest staff and great atmosphere. Right in the centre and easy enough to the air port as well. They organise trips (at extra cost) and the providers are amazing

BRIDPORT

Come to lovely warm welcoming Dorset, we’ll give you a friendly welcome, unless you can’t reverse your car in a country lane, then we will be abusive and tell you to fuck of back to where you came from.

Oooo I might. Some say my reverse driving is better than my forwards driving

I can recommend West Wales. Beautiful place, nice to drive to. I don’t live there!

If you’re thinking of visiting Scotland and love queueing, I recommend Anstruther for THE best fish and chips!

Well if you are staying in Paignton you can't beat the Mercure hotel, I was pleasantly shocked by the huge choice for breakfast.

Edinburgh

2024 is my year of travel. Just back from a solo weekend in Paris and already desperate to go back.

I've got a trip down south in March which I might turn into a little mini break for one.

I'm off to Amsterdam in April.

A mystery trip in May for a day somewhere.

Netherlands with work end of May.

I'm hoping for another weekend in Paris in June

Planning to city hop with my boys in July /August for 10 days. Hoping to do Spain, Italy and Greece.

New York with my eldest in December.

Caribbean cruise next March with my bestie.

If you want a beach holiday but not concerned about a 5*, take a look at Riu Oliva Beach Hotel, Corralejo Fuerteventura.

Hotel is dated, but clean, food is good as are the drinks (it’s 3*AI) and the staff are wonderful. Plus it’s right on a fabulous beach.
